Not Too Far From Here - There is HOPE
We're kissing domestic violence good-bye while delivering a message of hope to the next generation and their families through this Film.

Project Description

Lindsay and Jackson have been high school sweethearts since their freshman year. Four years of pure joy change their senior year, when Jackson betrays Lindsay's trust by having sex with one of her friends at a party. Jackson hopes for forgiveness. Her friends want revenge. Lindsay? She wants justice that may never come because of Jackson’s dad.
Do you remember your first crush? Your first love? Your first break-up? Your first heart-ache? They come packaged as different and unique as you and I.
Was there someone there to help you navigate the course? or like so many, did you have to find hope on your own, because they were in the middle of their own battle that they couldn't see you in yours?

NOT TOO FAR FROM HERE is designed to not only speak to the 15.5 million youth living in severe violent homes, but the 42.5million youth that are their peer group around them.
The premiere is planned for October 2021, as a 3 day event during domestic violence awareness month. There will be time and space for NGO vendors to communicate about their organizations/products.

This campaign is a small piece of the big goal. It's designed to raise funds for needed gear for our camera department, upgrade on the editing suite, new microphones and receiver, pay for pre-production costs and funds to secure our leading actress.
Our team involves:
Ricki Maslar, Casting Director, "Twister" with Helen Hunt, "Dahmer" starring Jeremy Renner, "Selfie Dad" with Michael Jr, Chonda Pierce, Jamie Grace
Kevin Sorbo, as actor/director, "Hercules", "God’s Not Dead", "Soul Surfer", "What If" and "Miracle in East Texas"
Sam Sorbo, as actress/script super, "Andromedia", "Let There Be Light", "Chicago Hope", and "Bernie the Dolphin".
Deborah Watson, Executive Director for Studio 2.22 wrote this story intentionally to help support victims of domestic violence. After a series of her friends lost loved ones, she decided to write a story dealing with the issue that offered a message of hope to survivors. Her friend Kim "Boyce" Koreiba share with her about her new book "Not Too Far From Here"- moving from hurt to hope.

"This journey has broken my heart in a way that has set it on fire to see change in our nation. Many fires are fueled with gasoline. Mine? It's the tears of hearing and seeing the results of domestic violence in our nation. In Texas, right after her high school graduation during covid, a daughter was killed by her father, then he took the life of her sister, 2 years younger and then himself. The neighbors reply? 'I'm not surprised, he had an anger streak.' Then two weeks later, in a town north of us, a 12 year old boy was beaten to death behind his grand-fathers barn by his father."
"These are only two of many cases throughout our nation. It is my hope that we can stand together and be part of the change and bring healing to the brokenness in our nation. You see, hurting people, hurt people. Heal the hurts of the people, it will bring hope. It's inevitable."

Thank you for taking the time to read our mission for the NOT TOO FAR FROM HERE project. We look forward to your support and hopefully meet you face to face at the event in October 2021.
Why investors love us

Deborah has been a leader and a resource for her community for as long as I have known her. When we were both living in St. Louis, Deborah was known as a person that could pull pastors and different ministries together to participate in activities together. Then when she moved to Branson she did the same thing but for the film industry. What impresses me most about Deborah is that she has a vision to elevate not only her own film career, but the film industry as a whole in Missouri. She has been a tireless advocate for Missouri film for all filmmakers of all genres, not just the faith-based genre that she specializes in.
Deborah has also built a lot of relationships with key players and distributors in the faith based film industry. She put together a corporate plan for her company and recruited investors by selling shares, which puts her above the pack in the independent producer world. She also started a film festival in Branson that has received submissions from around the world. Film is truly her passion and her vision goes beyond her own film projects. I'm proud to call her a colleague.

Deborah is a self motivator who raises awareness for many causes that she is passionate about, like domestic violence. The film, "Not To Far From Here" is a topic tabu to our society but her and her crew are determined to let the world know that violence has no place in any home. Deborah says what she means, and truly means what she says with respect to her passion for helping others. After being acquainted for nearly a decade, I know first hand the level of success she seeks. Rest asure she will see this film to completion.
