Safe transportation for kids -- solutions for families, schools and organizations
Families, schools and organizations all have the need to transport children. How many schools have empty seats on their vehicles, or routes that are longer than an hour? ShuttleBee merges the needs of families, schools and organizations to create shorter more cost effective transportation options for smaller groups who may not otherwise have viable, legal and fully-insured solutions.
ShuttleBee provides best-in-class service by filling in the technology gap, utilizing existing solutions and building new ones to create a seamless transportation experience.
Parents, schools and organizations enroll with ShuttleBee. Our goal is to carefully manage our growth and prioritize safety and cost. Until we can build technology to support safety, we're manually controlling and auditing each and every step in the process -- from excel spreadsheets to texts and phone calls to confirm attendance. Until the tech can catch up, we're turning customers away.
The current journey begins with an inquiry form, asking where a child is routinely heading and when. We'll coordinate that inquiry with others, merging pickups and drop offs for small groups (between 9-14 students or less over a 1.5 hour circuit).
Once a route is offered, families sign a contract for the school year. We work to acquire a vehicle, hire and train our drivers.
Drivers first undergo a test with Diagnostic Driving, an PA-based entity that is currently administering driving tests in Ohio. Drivers continue the vetting and training process, which is outlined here: http://shuttlebee.net/faq-1
Families are on-boarded using our existing tech for GPS tracking, and soon our in-vehicle monitoring and proprietary attendance-tracking tool. ShuttleBee manages active dispatching, viewing pictures to ensure that boosters are used correctly, for example.
Each piece of supporting tech will increase our ability to take on more work. And that journey starts now.
We're building our first technology suite to address safety concerns. It might not be the first issue that comes to mind, but it's a huge pain point that impacts all teachers on a daily basis -- attendance! We need an effective way for parents to report in daily attendance, and for teachers to confirm or reach out quickly and easily, without keeping their eye off the children. Our teachers need to be confident that they have the students that they should -- always. Find out more @ shuttlebee.net/beekeeper
