I'm a reluctant entrepreneur. After seventeen years in direct response marketing, it took a while for me to wrap my head around doing something new. Choosing to leave my career was a culture shock that was as emotional as it was jarring.
But change was calling. The timing (and the ritual) of my daughter's drop-off routine caused me to be late to work Every Single Day. When I sought a solution, I found many other families who were looking for the same. I was absolutely amazed that even with autonomous vehicles and privatized space travel, nothing out there seemed to fit the bill to address transportation needs for busy, working families.
Personally, I don't have experience as a city planner or in transportation. I've spent my career standing close to the tech community, and one of my first "ah-ha" moments was the realization that ShuttleBee could offer so much more, if only we had smart and thoughtful tech to support the business.
I'm here today because there are tremendous barriers to enter the transportation-for-kids market. Not only is providing transportation for children extremely expensive from an insurance perspective, it's exceptionally difficult for a small business owner with no experience to dive in. There seems to be very little guidance on the topic. And as a parent, there's a certain terror that surrounds unsupervised transportation for kids, especially when you can't connect with the adult in charge.
We're looking to exceed expectation in this space, and to offer a white-glove approach. Your funding can help us get there.
