ABOUT BELLE AMPLEUR

• I am not plus sized. Why don't you make garments to fit me?
  • Dear non-plus size friend, we love you --however-- we are focused on serving bodies that are not currently represented well in retail. Thank you for being an ally to your friends/family/co-workers who ARE plus size. They need your support, WE need your support to provide more options for plus size bodies.
• Is Belle Ampleur for women only?
  • We believe that clothing is not gendered, and is for everyone. Our primary focus is on womxn of all genders, but we would be thrilled to see men, non-binary, gender fluid (and more) people wearing our garments! Do be aware that our garments are made for bodies with breasts, so a tailor may be needed if your body doesn't have breasts.
• Why do you use the words "Plus Size" ?
  • We use the words "plus size" because a lot of people feel triggered by the historical connotation and negative stigma attached the word "fat". We do not believe "fat" is a bad word, and if you choose to reclaim it, we support you! We want to be sensitive to people who prefer not to use the word "fat", and to also make it clear that we are designing for bodies that are currently marginalized and under-represented in retail.
• I am larger than a size 32. Are you going to have clothing to fit me?
  • Did you notice the little + sign at the end of our tagline? We put that there on purpose! If a garment isn't available in your size on the website and you want it, just email us and we will make it for you, at no additional charge. 
    No "fat tax" at Belle Ampleur! 
    We are a very tiny business, with only one full time employee (our designer) and the reality is that making clothing is very expensive. We currently can only afford to buy a certain number of sizes at the factory's required minimums, which is why we are limiting the size runs--for now.
    A benefit, however, of being so small is that if you wear larger than a size 32, --our designer, Hannah-- can cut and sew a single garment for you in her private studio. Handmade, just for you!
    If we receive a deluge of requests for particular styles in sizes larger than a 32, then we will definitely be able to order those highly requested styles in larger sizes for the website.
• Why aren't you pre-selling a product?
  • Think of it this way: we are building a house, and before we put the walls up, we need to build a foundation. This campaign is all about the foundation. Make sure you sign up for our email newsletter on our website to stay informed about all the exciting things going into our foundation, and the planning for our walls!

LAUNCH PARTY

• What is happening at the launch party? Is it worth it?
  • YES! There will be: live music, a runway show, amazing drinks and food, various performers, and a dance party! This is a launch that is not to be missed! Have good ideas for things you want to see at the launch party? Hit us up on Facebook and let us know!
• I live outside of WA. State, and want to attend the launch party. Will you fly me there?
  • Airfare, hotel, and food is not included in the rewards. We do plan on streaming the launch party to our followers, so if you can't attend in person, make sure you are following us on Facebook. Dress up at home, pour yourself a cocktail, and dance in your living room!
• I purchased a reward tier that includes tickets to the launch party, but now I can't go. Can I get cash or a gift card instead?
  • Rewards are not eligible for exchange or return, however, you CAN transfer the tickets to someone else's name who can take advantage of the event! Just email us and let us know who will be using your tickets.

REWARDS

• I received my reward and it was ruined in the mail. Can I get a new one?
  • We package all our rewards with care, but accidents do happen. If it is still available from the vendor, OF COURSE! If the same item is not available, we will work with you to ensure you receive a comparable item of equal value. Just email us !
• I live outside the USA and want to contribute to your campaign. Can you ship rewards to me? 
  • We are currently not able to ship outside the USA. If you would like to contribute without a physical reward attached, you can! 
• Can I return my reward for cash value?
  • Rewards are not return-able or exchangeable. The only exception is if the item is damaged upon receipt.
• I purchased the reward with a custom garment. What are the restrictions and limitations?
  • Our specialty is making garments that are comfortable and easy to wear, yet feel dramatic and glamorous. We are not a bridal or formal wear brand, and are not able to accomplish:
    • bridal gowns 
    • formal structured gowns 
    • waist training garments/corsets 
    • latex 
    • full leather garments 
    • active wear
    • fire retardant garments
    • children's garments
    • other specialty items, such as bras or compression clothing
  • If you are unsure if your dream garment is something we can make for you, let's chat! You can reach out via email before you purchase your reward and we can let you know if your idea is something we can achieve. 
  • You can be ANY size to purchase the custom garment reward, not just plus size. This garment will be made to fit your measurements.
