Lindsey E. Murphy is the creator and host of The Fab Lab With Crazy Aunt Lindsey, YouTube's popular kids science web series that takes everyday science concepts and turns them into fabulous DIY projects children can do at home with their families. Think Martha Stewart plus Bill Nye the Science Guy but with a little extra flavor. Since launching in 2010, the show has gone from being a low key side hobby intended for the eyes of the 11 person email list of parents she'd been babysitting for to garnering partnerships with the likes of Scientific American Magazine, the New York Academy of Sciences, and Blue Star Donuts. She has been published in countless family publications around the nation and internet and is a brand beloved by thousands of fans all over the globe. Completely self-taught, Lindsey is a science communicator whose creative and casual approach to classic concepts has innovated the way science education is brought to life at home, making it fun and utterly relatable to those who have no formal training in STEM fields. The mission of The Fab Lab is to bring accessibility, inclusivity, and representation to STEM.
Lindsey is a regular guest at conferences nationwide, giving talks and live demonstrations at places like Harvard University, Google, Girl Scouts GirlFest, and KGW News 8 on topics such as creative media and diversity in STEM, confidence, and dreaming big for women and girls. When she is not producing her show, she hosts audiences large and small from on stage, screen, and live for the nations largest TED Independent event, TEDx Portland, Travel Oregon, and many others.
Before breaking out on her own in 2017, she spent more than 15 years in marketing and business development, spending time at institutions MTV Networks, Nike Inc., and Wieden+Kennedy and specializes in making content from the heart, digital consulting, audience + creative development.
