I started my first venture the summer before 2nd grade. My mother taught me to freeze kool-aid in styrofoam cups. I then sold them to kids in the neighborhood for .25 a piece. I was amazed that kids bought my frozen kool-aid cups when they could make a freezer full for the price they paid me. That summer my flame was sparked. I sold things to kids all throughout my childhood. When I got older, I sold on Amazon.
When I was 21, I had the idea to launch a new type of school fundraising business. I won a "trickle-up" grant for $500 that helped me buy the equipment that I needed. I officially started that business at 23. When I tried to pitch my idea to area small businesses, they agreed to sign-up. Then, they tried to hire me to do something else for them. Usually, it involved designing & sales.
I went on to get the "real job" that my father demanded. This landed me in the financial services arena. My years spent with the leading financial services providers gave me a unique look into the mind and lives of SO many small business owners.
All of my experience has laid a great foundation for the companies I have today. I still love product sales, but I want to sell things that enrich lives. My newest baby Brinkley Web was officially launched in 2018. But I have been designing and marketing for businesses for years!! My husband finally suggested that I charge for my talents. I don't know why, but again I have been amazed by the demand for our services.
