What is Whipped Lash® New York?

We are a black-owned and woman-owned, vegan, and cruelty-free magnetic eyelash brand disrupting the clean beauty industry by storm.  Whipped Lash® Magnetic Eyelashes are the best lash extension alternative to harsh glue adhesives and the tedious process associated with lash strips. We want women to preserve their health and lashes by staying away from harsh glue adhesives. Our magnetic liquid eyeliner is applied as usual eyeliner, and the magnetic lash is placed over it. It is literally that simple. Anyone can do it themselves from the comfort of their home without spilling or making a mess. Lashes can be easily removed after a full day’s wear and stored for reuse. Each pair of magnetic eyelashes can be used over 30 times!

The current beauty standard calls for eyelash extensions, except many of the options available to women are costly, require regular maintenance, and cause extensive damage to the natural lash line. Many women wear false eyelashes to enhance the lashes they already have, only to experience lash loss. We want to empower women to apply our magnetic eyeliner and eyelashes on their own. No special skills or professional skills are required. Our product is an everyday solution for the beauty-positive and vegan beauty crowd, models and influencers, brides-to-be, fashion-forward teenagers, new moms, and women over 50.

Who am I and how we got started?

My name is Jennifer and I work for a biotech company as a clinical research associate. I manage clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies and come with a wealth of knowledge in research and drug development. Understanding the process and pipeline from concept to product on the shelf, it was a matter of time before I brought my expertise to the beauty industry. 

I was never excited about the thought of using glue adhesive to my eyelashes, but with the growing demand for eyelash extensions and my desire to keep up with beauty trends, I gave in to visiting a local beauty bar that did individual eyelashes for my birthday. My lashes came out great and I loved them, but after a few weeks, it was time for me to return to the beauty bar for a fill-in and regular maintenance. When I went back for a fill-in, I remember thinking to myself that monthly fill-ins would get expensive ($100 per session) when I thought about how much I would be spending for the year. Even though the beauty bar I went to was highly rated and very professional, I remember my eyes feeling a burning sensation as the adhesive and lashes were being applied. That was the 2nd and last time I ever visited the beauty bar. It just didn’t seem like an expense I could justify and didn’t feel safe knowing that the glue could be doing me more harm. For the next month, I did facial steams, coconut oil treatments, and everything you can name just to get these individual lashes off safely without ripping out my eyelashes. I had had enough. I made the switch to magnetic eyeliner and eyelashes and I will never look back. 

I founded Whipped Lash® Magnetic Eyelashes in March of 2021. With an entrepreneurial spirit and my understanding of product development,  Whipped Lash® revenue closed out with over a 100% increase in sales for 2022 compared to 2021. We are eager to continue to implement our growth plan and scale our business. 

How do we intend to use the funds raised?

We are obsessed and want to share the excitement about our Premium Silk Magnetic Eyelashes. Our priority is branding, advertising, and marketing for brand exposure; including influencer partnerships and co-branded collaborations. This would include paid brand ambassadors for pop-up shops and vendor events. We would re-invest a portion of funds into the manufacturing of products for inventory replenishment. The listed items are what we have identified as our must-haves going into a new business year.
