Our Why

Have you ever gone to a restaurant or cafe and was stuck ordering just sides because there were no vegan options? Or worse, you ordered something you thought was vegan but wasn't? Since 2020, Sweet Mustard HTX (SMHTX) has been blessed with the opportunity to serve our delicious plant-based foods to our friends, family, and guests in the greater Houston area. Veganism has gain fast momentum in recent years and with the Houston area steadily growing, we feel that Houston is a strong  market for our concept. Our target market is everyone, not just vegans and that is our main strategic focus. 

Humble Beginnings

We started serving our food in a shared kitchen. We then continued to spread the word vending at farmers markets and festivals and now we have our first brick and mortar where SMHTX continues to create a healthy and growing demand for our food.

Our Founder

I'm a native Houstonian,  graduate from Texas Southern University,  and a business woman with a  passion for creating   plant-based foods that everyone will like.  I quickly  became aware of   a lack of vegan food   options that appeal to the masses and this has inspired me to launch this creative and unique vegan cafe.

Our Food

SMHTX offers the Houston and surrounding areas a unique 100% plant-based menu consisting of gourmet sandwiches, brunch and desserts with a southern flare. Our vision has always been to introduce non vegans to plant-based foods by offering foods that are flavorful, high in protein and appealing.
