ZahZee’s mission is to support the health of our bodies and the planet with ethically made, eco-friendly, certified organic hemp undergarments.
What We Are Solving
Let's face it. Our vulvas are extremely sensitive.
- 1 in 5 women suffers from recurrent UTIs
- 45% experience recurrent yeast infections
So why are we putting harmful materials next to the most sensitive parts of our bodies?
The majority of undergarments today are made from synthetic materials and standard cotton, which can aggravate underlying health problems. Cotton is also no exception. Commonly considered the “golden standard” for women’s health, today’s cotton is made from pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers which can also disrupt the health of our bodies.
How We Solve This Problem
ZahZee prioritizes the health of our bodies and the planet with hemp undies.
After a year of designing and testing, our ZahZee hemp underwear is:

- Flattering
- Functional
We designed two perfect pairs:
Our hemp undies are exclusively dyed indigo, blush, black, and natural using natural dyes or low-impact dyes that are hypoallergenic and certified non-toxic to human health.
Why We Are Crowdfunding
Our bodies are perfect the way they are. We want underwear that embraces that. When you grab your pair of ZahZee undies from your drawer, you don’t have to pick between sexy and comfy. ZahZees look good, and they feel good.

Meet the ZahZee Founder
Shannon Mostrom founded ZahZee after she struggled with women's health issues for years. This led her to rethink underwear which is when she discovered the star of our product: hemp. In 2021, ZahZee was founded with the mission to get hemp undergarments in front of more women to help support their health. Shannon works in advertising and media and earned her MSc in Finance and International Business and a BSc in Entrepreneurship, and a BFA in Ballet. She’s passionate about women's health and creating products that are gentle on the planet and that ultimately improve people’s lives.

- Why are you crowdfunding?
- The reason ZahZee is crowdfunding is that we believe in our community. We want to reach out supporters and work towards the same goal, to make eco-friendly and healthy undergarments accessible to all. Crowdfunding through IFundWomen allows us to share our message and reach a community of supporters that can share our passion for our project, no matter how close or far.
- Where do you get hemp from?
- As of now, hemp remains an imported good and is generally produced in China or India. We work with US suppliers that extensively vet their hemp imports to ensure that they're produced ethically and sustainably. Since hemp was illegal to grow and produce in the US until the 2018 Farm Bill, the US is far behind other countries when it comes to making industrial hemp (hemp used for textiles). We expect this to change within the next 5-10 years as consumer demand for hemp textiles increases and our culture continues to embrace hemp and eco-friendly materials.
- Where are ZahZee undergarments made?
- ZahZee undergarments are handmade in Colorado by a small team of women dedicated to making high-quality, eco-friendly products. From there, ZahZee undies are hand-dyed in New York using hypoallergenic natural dyes before being sent to you!
- What is the difference between hemp and cannabis?
- Technically, hemp and cannabis are the same plants. In US law, the name hemp describes the difference between the amount of THC found in the cannabis plant. We've included a few key differentiators below to tell the difference:

Cannabis containing less than 0.3 percent THC in the US was made legal to grow in the 2018 Farm Bill

Hemp-derived CBD products were made legal with the 2018 Farm Bill

Cannabis containing more than 0.3 percent THC isn’t federally legal.

Cannabis is still completely illegal in certain states across the United States. Some states allow it medically and recreationally, but it is up to the state to determine its legal status.
