2021 Fundraising Updates

After a summer of drought and a July of dangerous heat, lumber prices came back down to the original cost, and we got to work!

Our first trip there was the day after a severe windstorm. My daughter and I spent hours and hours cutting and hauling fallen trees that blocked the road in. None fell on the building. The result is a large supply of future firwood for the wood stove!

The next visits involved emptying the old building, tearing out drywall, mouse filled insulation, tearing off decades old shingles, removing siding and old broken sliding doors and windows.

Your donations helped cover costs of several dump fees, new lumber to reframe the walls, shingles and related roofing supplies, replacing rotting floor joists, and I've even found a couple wonderful windows from the ReStore in Saskatoon! We've purchased nails, tarps, and tie downs. My carpenter has put in many days of hard labour, which Is an amazing donation in and of itself.

Thank you everyone!  I've posted photos throughout the summer and fall on IG and FB, which I hope you've been able to enjoy.  There's so much to do, but we've had to stop to make money in the city to cover bills.  We're making another trip out tomorrow to get it winter-ready since it is relatively bare-bones at this point.

Also, a few of you have chosen my annual Calendars via the fundraising campaign.  They have been designed and ordered. I'm awaiting shipment. You should see them by the end of November as promised. : )

Thanks everyone!
