About Unwind By Steph

My name is Stephanie and I’m a self proclaimed candle hoarder who started this labor of love in my apartment kitchen (which, if I’m honest, has basically been converted to a mini candle studio). I started Unwind By Steph to shed light on one of the darkest seasons of my life. Throughout that season I discovered building aromatherapy into my everyday routine made a world of difference in my ability to unwind and take steps towards building a healthy wellness routine. 

On my journey, I began to notice  a large gap in the wellness space that omits many voices of women of color. This sends, or perhaps exacerbates, the message that women of color do not deserve the right to participate in these spaces. Often exclusionary in price, location, and accessibility, wellness tools are frequently out of reach for women of color. My candles and diffusers are a solution to this problem. I’m radically committed  to encouraging inclusive and guilt free opportunities to relish in self love. By making wellness tools inclusive and accessible through candles and diffusers, I encourage others to cultivate an environment of peace on their own journeys towards wellness.

Each candle and diffuser is poured by hand and labeled by hand. Our candles and diffusers are crafted with clean ingredients and therapeutic scents to elevate spaces and transform minds. All of  the candles are hand poured in small batches with a coconut wax blend, wooden wicks, and non-toxic phthalate free fragrances. Additionally, every purchase features an affirmation that is embedded on plantable paper that grows wildflowers; my hope is that as customers water their flowers, they’ll remember to nourish their souls.

I’m a one woman show and my goal is simple:  to empower others to cultivate an environment of peace through self care goodies and affirmations for the soul. When I’m not making candles you can catch me cuddled up on my couch watching a true crime documentary, whippin up all the carbs in my kitchen, or out at brunch with friends.
