Rodiah Dorcely
Creator & Founder of The Spirit Diet
In 1998, I made a life-altering decision at 19 years old. I decided to stop eating meat and follow a plant empowered diet.
21 years later, this is still the BEST decision that I have ever made
I am a graduate of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Certified & Insured Heath Coach, with almost 20 years of concerted effort in the areas of health, wellness and nutrition.
I have coached many people over the last decade and desire to expand my expertise into products & services through my wellness club.

Usage of Funds:
The capital from this campaign will go toward Merkaba, a private-members wellness club, and be in addition to any grants or investments we may receive in our seed round.
The Opportunity:
The Health & Wellness Industry is booming and very lucrative. This is the opportunity to become a part of something that will help establish our identity in this market space. There is 8.7 Billion dollars in lost opportunity due to neglect and lack of representation.
“A trillion-dollar shift is taking place in the food system emphasizing local food, better ingredient decks, transparent sourcing, reduced preservative systems, better calories and proteins, and environmental consciousness. For growth brands, the target has been white, upper-middle-class buyers—yes, including those indulgent in yoga and other hipster pursuits.
The only problem is, that market is stagnant and becoming oversaturated. On a macro level, it is not growing. New brands are entering a zero-sum game, replacing yesterday’s hot trend with today’s.
Rather than dismissing them, smart brands should be targeting Mr. and Ms. “Hot Cheetos.” They want better food and better options. And, just as important, they have money to spend on food. Studies estimate that lower-income consumers—those supposedly poor, uneducated, ethnically diverse consumers you may be ignoring—represent over $8 billion in lost opportunities. This “leakage” from the market is bad for everyone: the better-for-you products and consumers who need better, healthier options, particularly in view of the health problems prevalent in those communities"

The Challenge:
According to statistics, Black female founders have a .2% chance to raise over 1 million dollars.
The average amount raised by black women is $42,000 in comparison to white male founders who on average raise 1.3 million for businesses that typically fail.
Currently there are approximately 40+ Black Fearless Female Founders that have accomplished this.
Helping us will not only help bring our vision into fruition, it simultaneously raises the odds for all the black female founders who venture down this path after us.
