It’s wedding season and we couldn’t think of a better time to launch the SIGNATURE BRIDE campaign! Love is in the air!
SIGNATURE BRIDE is the only luxury bridal lifestyle brand for Black women and couples. Launched in November 2018, we’re determined to diversify the bridal market by offering wedding advice from industry pros, style inspiration, beauty tips, fitness plans and more, tailored for Black brides-to-be.
The wedding industry is worth billions of dollars, yet it is not representative of people of color. Mainstream media outlets lack diversity in their content, which is ironic, since love is the one thing we all have in common. Black brides are rarely represented on mainstream bridal websites and in mainstream magazines, yet they have undeniable buying power and influence on the economy.
If a Black model is shown as a bride, or a wedding is featured in a magazine, it is typically half-way into the issue. It’s rare to see Black women or other ethnicities on the cover of bridal magazines.
Getting engaged represents a significant milestone for many women. Purchasing their magazine of choice on the newsstand and finding wedding websites to help guide them is part of celebrating the beginning of a new chapter and the exciting build-up to the Big Day.
Black women do not have enough choice in the current wedding market — online or in print — and it is time to change that.

Each year, 2.4 million weddings take place in the $300 billion global wedding industry. Though newlyweds make up a smaller percentage of U.S. households, the SIGNATURE BRIDE is the trendsetter, determining which brands, products and services will succeed in a crowded marketplace. Outspending the Caucasian market in 27 categories, the Black woman differs in how she shops and how she communicates. As a consumer, she is resilient, receptive, relevant and untapped. Passionate about being connected, Black consumers have adopted digital formats at a higher rate than the general population and have adapted the formats to provide a powerful platform to amplify their voices.
Wedding media specifically target women and have a tremendous influence on the choices of brides-to-be. Wedding websites have grown in popularity and are a fast-growing sector in wedding media. Many sites, however, do not provide content-specific information.
SIGNATURE BRIDE helps Black brides-to-be plan their wedding and their future with tailored content that not only guides them in wedding planning and the first three years of marriage, but inspires them to think outside the box and see themselves as brides and grooms.
SIGNATURE BRIDE is fresh, innovative and long overdue for the Black bride! The brand represents the unique culture of Black brides who have been consistently overlooked and underrepresented in the bridal space.
We’ve reached over 3 million with our content already! But we know this is only the beginning.

The Black market exerts an enormous influence on American culture. The market has a “cool factor” that has created a halo effect, influencing not just consumers of color, but mainstream as well. Their impact shows no sign of waning, given their projected population growth and increased buying power of $1.3 trillion, which is expected to grow to $1.54 trillion by 2022, according to the Selig Center for Economic Growth.
In the current political climate, it’s more important than ever that underrepresented voices are celebrated and amplified. At SIGNATURE BRIDE we’re doing our bit to diversify the wedding industry and we’d love your help!
We are a content powerhouse! We provide inspiration and support for wedding planning and preparation, as well as content that deals with the core issues of relationships, marriage and family. As we grow, we will continue to share our content on our website and social media platforms while adding new platforms, including emags, newsletters, podcasts and print. We’re not just interested in helping Black women plan their weddings, we want to support them in enjoying a healthy and happy marriage.
We also have some incredible women on the SIGNATURE BRIDE team! Check out some of the amazing rewards these two powerhouses have contributed to our campaign!

Finally! I am writing to thank you for a wonderful website. Your site is a God-send and a tribute to Black love. As a wedding consultant, I believe it is very important that today’s Black bride and groom add tradition and culture to their ceremony. I can say with great pride that SIGNATURE BRIDE covers the latest fashion trends, health and beauty tips, travel and so much more. From Sister to Sister, you go girls!
I LOVE SIGNATURE BRIDE! It is the perfect resource for today’s Black bride.
Hallelujah! Thank you for your beautiful website. The professionally written articles and the commitment that you have extended to the African-American sisters of the country. I have been so disappointed with the bridal magazines out on the market. Prior to becoming engaged, I would buy bridal magazines just to look at the upcoming fashions and to read the articles. It was not unusual for me to fly through a popular magazine in 15 minutes... I rarely saw models that looked like me, and I did not sense that they truly cared about me. Then I found your website!
We’ve been overwhelmed by the demand for our content and are so proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but… we’re not done yet! We want to reach a wider audience, connecting Black brides-to-be across the world to the information and the resources they need and want.
The funds we raise will be used to:
- Hire an editor to drive the growth of SIGNATURE BRIDE
- Work with more writers to create even more exciting, fresh content for the website and publish emags that can be sold online
- Bring photoshoots in-house, ensuring the SIGNATURE BRIDE style is created on-site
- Hire a contracted digital marketing strategist to grow our community
- Bridal show and workshop development
Be part of the change to help diversify the wedding industry! It’s not only Wedding Season, it’s SIGNATURE BRIDE’s season!
