Along with the poor fit for curves, women are bored with the repetitive styles and colors that do not flatter their personalities or make them stand out. Women of all ages need fun, new, and exciting garments sophisticated enough to suit their ambitious lifestyles.

Olivia Rae Designs creates eye catching and sophisticated women's wear that commands attention. The days of being overlooked and ignored are over. Our customers love presenting their ideas in a unique outfit no one else has. Along with the stand out colors and prints each garment is made with eco-friendly materials and produced sustainability. 

The Collection

The Olivia Rae Designs collection features versatile garments full of colors and prints. We carry a size run 2-14 and plan to expand by adding sizes 16-22. We embrace many traditional silhouettes like: A-line, pencil skirts, and fitted dresses while mixing it up with funky color blocking and seam work.  The goal of each piece is to be show-stopping wearable art, so our customers own the room. Olivia Rae Designs adds a special twist with the bold prints and textures along with future use of sustainable fabrics and production methods.  

Unique Features

The versatility, fit, unique shapes, deep/rich hues and seam work attract attention while captivating emotion. The wearer is comfortable, beautiful, and eye catching in these looks. When she goes to work, a networking event, or out on the town she is commanding attention allowing her ease when executing a goal. Our garments fit well, are produced in a sustainable way, and will be made from many eco-friendly fabrics. When you buy you are also supporting a young black female designer with purpose. 

Goals 

Our goal is to grow from a local seamstress to a full fashion brand by increasing our marketing efforts, hiring new talent, expanding our product offering, and increasing our sustainable efforts. 

Increasing our marketing efforts includes consistently shooting our new and existing products on professional models by expert photographers. We will use these photos on all of our digital platforms including a revamped website! 

Hiring new talent includes a sales representative and design assistant to help with distribution and garment production efforts. With these additions we will have the capacity to take larger orders and increase the effectiveness when perfecting the fit and feel of each outfit. As we expand our team we can scale the amount of garments we produce. 

Our main goal is to create a sustainable business. We want to use existing textiles to create the small pieces on our SCRAPS line to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. We will help spark a fire in pushing new and existing companies to become environmentally conscious.

Meet the Team & Freelancers

Alison Hoenes is a freelance patternmaker who helps independent women’s fashion brands keep control of product development without the technical hassle. She writes a newsletter on apparel product development for fashion entrepreneurs, serves as the Regional Director for Fashion Group International of Saint Louis, and is the host of the How Fitting podcast.

Kim Love is the founder of Kim Love Productions, LLC, a video and photography production company formed in 2011. Prior to founding Kim Love Productions, he worked for the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis for nearly 10 years in various roles such as the agency's in-house photographer. Love also has nearly 20 years experience as a radio broadcaster, working at various Midwest stations after graduating from the University of Illinois.

Adanma Ojukwu is a Digital Designer focused on creating modern and socially conscious digital experiences. UI/UX Design, Illustration, and Graphic Design are her areas of expertise.
