Menstruation matters to all:
Whether you are someone who menstruates or not, we need you in this fight to end the period stigma and make menstruation equitable for everyone who bleeds.
Background
Love Your Menses was founded in 2019 by Bria Gadsden and Dr. Ebere Azumah, MD in response to the growing wellness needs present in communities, particularly communities of color. As a grassroots, we are driven by our mission to provide girls, young women, and those who menstruate with the resources they need in order to have healthy menstrual cycles.
We are committed to breaking the period taboo and ensuring girls, young women, and those who menstruate have healthy cycles. We do this work through menstruation education workshops, community conversations, resource connection, mentorship, and advocacy.
Current Project
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are distributing period products to individuals in need. Due to statewide stay-at-home advisories across the nation, many individuals are unable to work or go to school. Thus, many of them do not have access to the funds or resources they need in order to manage their menstrual cycles.
Since April 25, we have distributed over 250 care kits to individuals and families. We are actively seeking monetary donations to continue creating and personally delivering care kits across the Greater Boston, MA area. Our hope is to create a sustainable menstrual hygiene product distribution in which individuals in select cities and towns can request a period care kit or postpartum care kit free of charge. We strongly believe access to quality, menstrual hygiene products should be free and accessible to everyone who bleeds.

The contributions received will go towards the purchase of menstrual hygiene products, gift bags/ boxes, and shipping costs for those who need a period care kit but are out of our delivery reach. Your contributions will also help us continue providing menstruation education and resources to girls and young women of color across the country.
We would like to thank all of the community support we have received so far. This work would not have been possible without your support!
