Hi, I'm KéNisha Ruff, Founder of Marie Hunter Beauty, a brand that is committed to creating clean and luxurious products to boldly empower women like you with the beauty, confidence and class to feel like the best version of yourself on the inside and outside. Since launching in 2016, Marie Hunter Beauty has expanded to over 30 shades of lipsticks, added skincare and home fragrances and has been featured in publications such as Vogue British, House & Garden, Tatler, HuffPost, and more! 

We are launching this funding effort to help support our growth to launch into larger higher end retailers by updating our packaging. We currently have a pop up store in Soho, NY to help increase brand awareness and are available at select retailers in store and online. Until now, Marie Hunter Beauty has been self funded but in order to scale I need your help. While I am excited to have an emerging business, we need to invest our profits back into the business to support our growth. We are seeking to update our packaging to reflect the superior quality of our products and to continue to create packaging that tells a story you can relate too. 

Why Support Marie Hunter Beauty? 

Since the beginning, I have always believed that beauty should be simple and ethical. Ten years ago, shopping for cosmetics meant deciphering between an array of multistep makeup routines and products chockfull of harmful chemicals. You literally had to pick your poison - cosmetics that would mask who you really were or those that would damage you from the outside in. Like many of you, I knew that our products didn’t have to come with such comprise. I believed (and still do!) that real beauty - both simple and safe - could be achieved. I wanted to see a change in the cosmetics industry for modern women seeking confidence, without compromise, in their cosmetics. This desire became the beginning motivation behind our business.

Funding Allocation

Funding will be used to update our packaging, labeling and box packaging. We have already started the process with our lipsticks but need to be able to meet the high minimums. Funds will be used to update the packaging for our entire line (lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, skincare and home fragrances).

Who is KéNisha Ruff?

I began my beauty career as a licensed cosmetologist in Madison, Wisconsin. My passion for skincare and cosmetics led me through a professional journey in retail cosmetics, then to high end salons and spas, and now to my current role as a Professional Makeup Artist and Creative Director at Marie Hunter Beauty. I'm not just another lipstick aficionado; I'm an expert in the entire process of cosmetics formulation - from product development to package design. This explains why when launching Marie Hunter Beauty, I spent five years traveling the world to identify the best and most ethical cosmetic laboratories fit for the creation of my beauty brainchild. Today, those same laboratories that produce MHB’s cult favorite lipsticks like Boss Lady and sought-after fragrances like Prosecco are the same factories whose artisans and scientists produce the products of some of your favorite luxury beauty brands across the world.
