Lutunji’s Palate, Desserts with Soul

Lutunji Abram has always had a passion for creating gourmet baked goods & sharing them with all who surround her. When she brought her (now famous) Harriet’s Escape Peach Cobbler to a meeting at a local church in 2018, the Pastor insisted she bring her talent to their weekly farmers market. One cottage license & lots of happy customers later, Lutunji knew it was time to follow her dream.

Over the last two years, Lutunji’s Palate has transformed into a full-fledged operation, selling numerous 8 ounces and party pans of LOVE per week at various local farmers markets, grocers, restaurants and events.  You can find Lutunji’s products on the shelves of 4 of the largest local Lunds & Byerlys stores, North Market grocery store and as the desserts for several local restaurants including former Top Chef contestant Justin Sutherland’s Handsome Hog,  Pimento Jamaican Kitchen and at The Gnome Pub operated by Brian and Sarah Ingram. Her line of gourmet desserts has expanded far beyond the Peach Cobbler, with offerings like The King’s Coconut Cake Bites, Dr. T. Adams Pecan Philosophy Cobbler, and even Vegan & Gluten Free offerings of her classics!

On top of delivering happiness with each bite of her baked goods, Lutunji is extremely passionate about serving her community. With that in mind, Lutunji’s Palate is run with a social enterprise agenda. The business prioritizes the hiring of men transitioning back into society, young adult parents and youth to simultaneously build life skills and job development though working in her Commercial Kitchen. Additionally, 5-7% of all sales are put back into the community via donations to organizations such as Better Futures & Kobi Co. 

Our growth in the last few months has been incredible and Lutunji’s Palate is in more demand than ever before. Grocery stores are lining up, the opportunity in the Twin Cities restaurant scene is never ending, and the holidays are right around the corner! While a brick and mortar location is in our plan for 2021, we need to step up our game TODAY and hire three full-time employees in order to execute this expansion.
