LET'S STRETCH. 2021

THE MISSION

STRETCH. provides an outlook on life with Christ that embraces living in weakness and being vulnerable. As a result, we allow God space to bring about transformation, emotional healing, and depth in the revelation of our identity through the experience of his unconditional love. We aim to do this by facilitating spaces and providing tools for women to express and experience spiritual, mental, and emotional freedom. 

Within these spaces, women are encouraged to engage and share openly the truth of what comes up in their hearts and souls, no matter how messy or shameful it may be.

Through consistent engagement, women are set free by the word of their testimony. They learn to live a vulnerable life, open to God, living present in the whole truth of who they are, no matter what space they are in or who is around. They are no longer bound by the thoughts, opinions, and perspectives, either of their own or of others. Ultimately, women begin to experience what it is to be loved unconditionally by God.

THE VISION

Our vision is that, as every woman embraces this life in weakness and vulnerability, she would become open to God in truth, she would be able to walk boldly and confidently in who God has called her to be, and she would live completely and totally in the truth of who she is no matter the circumstance, risk, or who is around because God transforms us in truth.

Our heart is that we would reject the notion of being strong, and instead, boast in our weaknesses. We are aiming to shift the idea that being weak and being vulnerable is negative. This is simply anti-biblical. By intentionally embracing a life in weakness and vulnerability, we invite God to bring about true spiritual growth (transformation), emotional healing, and depth in the revelation of our respective identities.

PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

PROBLEM: NEGATIVE VIEW OF VULNERABILITY

Our society has made vulnerability something to be looked down upon and something to be avoided. However, we believe that it is a God-gifted space for us to experience true freedom from guilt and shame. We believe that walking in true vulnerability means that you are capable of giving yourself space to live in 100% authenticity of who you really are, how you feel, and what you think no matter who is in the room, no matter the risk.  Vulnerability opens the door for us to be loved unconditionally and deeply known because the mask that we often wear, is removed. We are making this a norm for women.

PROBLEM: WEAKNESS IS REJECTED

In our society and culture, women are encouraged to present their "best selves" and always be put together in public. We are taught that we need to be strong always and even if at times we are not okay and we are weak. We believe that weakness is a quality that we all hold that allows us to rest in who we truly are as women, and who we really are brings strength to everyone. 

PROBLEM: MANY WOMEN CANNOT AFFORD MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Many women need and desire to have therapy, counseling, support groups, and other holistic support services. The fact is that many women cannot afford to regularly receive these services. We are standing in this gap. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to every woman who comes to us and desires mental health support.

WHY

As we continue our mission to facilitate spaces and provide tools for women to experience spiritual, mental, and emotional freedom we are seeking financial partners to support us.  

We currently are providing:

• Financial support to women for therapy and counseling and other holistic support services
• Tangible resources for learning and enrichment 
• Monthly Virtual Retreats 
• Quarterly In-Person Retreats
• Bi-Annual 48 Hour Retreats at Hilltop Renewal Center

PUBLISH CURRICULUM

Something that we began to put together earlier this year was a STRETCH. Curriculum focussed on emotional healing and freedom. Our goal is to complete the writing process, edit, and use as a guide for STRETCH. group leaders and sell it to ministry leaders.

BUILD AN APP

We’d love to have an app that will help support connection within our community. This app would house weekly engagement content, STRETCH. group sign-ups, a group chat feature, and updates on all things STRETCH.

OPEN THE STRETCH. HOUSE

The STRETCH. House is a vision that we have to be able to host all of our retreats in. Moreover, we want this home to be a place where women can come together to bond and share. More outreach-related, we’d love to be able to house women who are transitioning out of traumatic relationships or healing from emotional abuse. These women would be able to stay for a set amount of time as we get them started in therapy and direction.

We’d want to build a schedule for the house where weekly spaces were opened up for women to come and be.

Beyond this, we’d love to run all STRETCH. day-to-day operations in this house, an intimate space. Our culture.

EXPANSION

Our growth goal is to see this entire program duplicated in chapters everywhere across the country and across the world.
