The Problems

• The majority of traditional schools in Africa fail to properly address that children are naturally different and diverse. Children have different interests and strengths but are all put in the same box and made to do the same things because answering set questions and taking standardized tests demands conformity. Hence there is no need for schools to be flexible, have subject variety, or accommodate different learning styles.


• Schools tend to focus more on testing to ensure high pass marks than focus on children learning for life because school test scores directly affect a school's rating and reputation. Children are then pressured into learning to pass tests rather than to help them in life, often leading to students finishing school without being able to solve a problem or critical thinking.

Our Solution

Olla Academy - An online kids school that offers fun, exciting and interactive skill growth and development classes and clubs to kids whose parents what them to learn useful skills not offered in most traditional schools especially in Zambia, such as kids coding and engineering classes, dance, mentorship, arts and crafts, music, agriculture, finance and more.

And because Olla is an online platform it allows kids to meet, socialize and make friends with kids from around the world with similar interests, with a bonus to access and play free suggested online games on the platform when play dates are arranged.

The Olla learning platform services consist of:

•  Live full-time education classes that can be personalized to fit different children's needs that make them happy to learn and comfortable to be themselves.
• After-school complimentary clubs that children can pick and join the ones they are most interested in.

We give parents the choice to pick the kind of education that's best for their kids and makes their kids happy.

We have successfully set up our LMS and developed our website and are ready for the next steps to make the school fully functional. We are therefore raising funds that will go towards working capital and get:

About Us

Mukuka founded Olla when she struggled to find a school that offered STEAM programs to expose and help her children gain the necessary skills to become self-reliant adults. She considered homeschooling her kids but could not find the time because she was working on her Professional Nanny startup and considered opening a physical school as the next step.

Then, COVID hit, and she was made aware of online school and the endless possibilities that could be done, no learning limitations, access to a sea of qualified teachers, and flexibility to pick a personalized curriculum for her children.

Olla Academy was created to provide education programs that teach kids practical skills that will help them in real-life situations and build their talents.

Our goal is to make children love to learn and acquire skills that give them a head start to become self-reliant individuals.
