Project Description
- Hey, y'all! I will be traveling to Paraguay to work with an organization called Fundación Paraguaya, which created an important tool that helps impoverished people to have a voice in defining what they perceive as wealth and poverty. By defining what is lacking, unique and innovative solutions can be created to combat their situations of oppression. Further, I am looking to highlight the correlation between poverty and child/adult sexual violence's after-effects.
- An average of two girls between 10 and 14 give birth every day in Paraguay, thanks to a toxic combination of widespread child abuse and draconian abortion laws, according to a new Amnesty International report. - "Paraguay has one of the highest rates of child and teen pregnancy in Latin America, a region that, as a whole, has the second-highest rates in the world." [Source: The Guardian]
- "There is no comprehensive sexual education in public schools, while the word gender is prohibited and eliminated from textbooks… and even from the recent law that recognizes femicide." [Source: El Pais International]

- The Market Size / Opportunity seems wide open for organizations to gather data, study, analyze, and identify the areas in which holistic intervention and/or trauma-informed legal interventions can be most beneficial in the restoration of the Survivor and their dependents.
- The organization that I am creating is called The Antidote Conference, which is a two-day event that helps Survivors of interpersonal violence (i.e., sexual violence, domestic violence, and sex trafficking) to attain the psychological, legal, and financial support services needed to reclaim their lives and their futures. I intend to learn how I can adapt and amend the conference's presentation so that it is culturally relevant and sufficiently restorative to the Survivors in Paraguay.
- I am seeking funding so that I can venture to Paraguay to work directly with Fundación Paraguaya in addressing the needs of those who are impoverished, especially those who are impoverished because of the interpersonal trauma they endured as children and/or adults.

- Travel in Paraguay
- Lodging
- Food
- Immunizations
- Funds to cover 2 weeks of missed work
- I will be working with Dr. Martin Burt, the Creator of the Poverty Stoplight, to begin the analysis of any correlation between poverty and interpersonal violence.

One of the goals of this conference is to be able to help Survivors around the Globe to heal, whose lives are also plagued by poverty and many other societal ills.
