Help Nappy Head Club Build a Black Utopia

Nappy Head Club is not just a fashion brand; it's a movement that merges activism with fashion, creating a unique and impactful space within the industry. Our pieces are wearable affirmations, beautifully designed to share Black stories in a fresh and meaningful way. We recognized a gap in the market where high-quality, fashionable options celebrating Black culture were scarce. This realization led us to craft a unique blueprint for our brand. We make our customers feel seen, heard, and celebrated at every touchpoint.

What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to both style and substance. Unlike many brands that force customers to choose between fashion and social impact, we've struck a perfect balance. Our gender-fluid designs and impactful messaging offer affordable and stylish clothing that uplifts our customers. 

Our impact extends beyond the realm of fashion. We leverage our platform for social change and community support. Through strategic collaborations with local artists and activists, we amplify Black voices and drive positive change. In a fashion landscape where consumers seek both style and substance, Nappy Head Club bridges the gap. We cater to the millennial consumer who values fashion while aligning with brands that represent their core values. With our unique approach and unwavering dedication, we are positioned to create lasting change and celebrate Black culture in style.

We’re very excited to be working on our newest collection with a phenomenal visual artist, Ashley Butler, based in Brooklyn New York. Her work highlights the vibrancy of the Black community through portraits that span subjects from cultural icons to everyday families. 

We’ve worked with Ashley to create a beautiful landscape that tells the story of an imaginary Black Utopia. This concept is very much inspired by historical free Black towns like Weeksville in Brooklyn and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and encourages us to explore what beauty, freedom, and innovation can come when a community bands together to create safe space.

Like all of our artist partnerships, Ashley will receive a commission on all sales featuring her work, granting her access to our audience, production skillsets, and marketing efforts at no cost to her. 

We are looking to raise funds to help us to cover the upfront costs to produce this capsule, featuring three garments doting Ashley’s beautiful artwork. The money raised in this campaign will go towards the sample costs, manufacturing the full run of product, and an editorial campaign to tell the story of the capsule.
