Project Description
Our Mission
Lagniappe & Co. is a nonprofit boutique and creative incubator dedicated to empowering New Orleans artists, designers, and makers by providing them with a high-end retail platform to showcase and sell their work. We aim to remove barriers for local creatives while inspiring both locals and tourists to shop small and support authentic, locally made goods.
The Problem
New Orleans is filled with talent, yet many local artists struggle to gain exposure and sell their work. The cost of running a business here is high, and mass-produced souvenirs dominate retail spaces instead of handcrafted, locally sourced products. Without affordable opportunities to showcase their work, many artists are unable to build sustainable careers.
Our Solution
Lagniappe & Co. will serve as:
- A retail incubator featuring local fashion, jewelry, home goods, and art
- A business mentorship hub to help artists grow their brands
- A community-driven space connecting creatives with customers who value authenticity
By creating a curated retail platform and support system, we will elevate local artists while giving shoppers a true New Orleans experience.

Kirsten Jones, a New Orleans native and creative entrepreneur, is leading this initiative with a passion for uplifting the local art community. Having seen the challenges independent artists face, she is committed to building a sustainable model that helps creatives thrive.

Yes! We are in the process of officially registering as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing us to provide more resources for local creatives and accept tax-deductible donations. - What types of products do you accept?
