Hair + Space Blowdry and Beauty Bar

In a year and a half, and in the midst of a pandemic, Hair + Space has become the standard for inclusive hair and beauty in the DC Metropolitan Area.  Our growing community of #spacegals come from all over to enjoy a hairstyling experience with a stylist who knows their hair. For so long we've had poor experiences at salons, being there for hours at a time, receiving poor customer service, being charged for the length of our hair, being asked if we are "natural" and then being charged for that. Enough is enough! All women deserve an accessible, convenient, luxurious, and on-trend hairstyling and beauty experience.

Servicing 2500 clients, we will soon outgrow our space and have dreams of building out a storefront that includes room for nail and other beauty services and ample retail space.  We also want to develop haircare products and tools and develop a strong ecommerce platform. 

We have clients as young as 3 and as old as 101!  We’ve serviced women of every ethnicity and are so proud to build a safe space where women can trust that their stylist knows their hair.  We have a team of stylists who are culturally sensitive and are excited to learn and style all types of hair.

Initially, we thought College Park was ideal due to the need for diverse hair care in the college town but we quickly learned that it was much needed in the entire metro area.  Women who wouldn’t normally travel to College Park, come just for Hair + Space.  We’ve had the honor of being featured on multiple news channels including WUSA9, ABC7, and NBC4.  Check out this clip!

We want to raise money to develop an inclusive haircare and tool line, take our salon to a storefront, and expand our ecommerce offering.
