Giving Tuesday Campaign

Sol Sister’s mission is to enrich, empower, and evolve women of all backgrounds. We host a number of enriching and empowering events for women in the Bay Area year round, but something was missing. We needed a specific aspect to our programming to reflect our participation in evolving women, both as individuals, and as contributors to our society.

People who experience hardships are often neglected the opportunity to get a second chance. Sol Sisters wants to remedy that by offering hands on opportunities to excel professionally while receiving the support of sisterhood.

As a result, Sol Sisters, Inc. presents our new Internship Program, beginning in 2019. Selected interns are transitioning out of hardships including incarceration, domestic abuse, substance abuse, sexual abuse, family abuse, and more. They have been selected from a pool of applications as Sol Sisters interns for 2019. To kick off their welcome, we hosted a day of celebration for them called Revive the Sol. Incoming interns received full makeovers, styling and clothing to take home, massages, goodie bags, lunch, and a warm welcome from our team.

Starting in 2019, they will receive:

1. The emotional, mental, and professional support of our team and their paired mentors from the community

2. Training on grant writing, media and marketing management, financial budgeting, event planning, fundraising, and more.

3. A job kit that includes resources for resume building, interview prep, tips to dress for success, etc. 

3. Upon completion of the program, these interns will graduate and mentor the incoming interns for 2020.

This is the evolvement of women we desire to provide.

Your generous donation will directly benefit the intern program. Participants will receive all materials needed for their mentorship in professional development, transportation funds, attendance to educational trainings, and more.
