Is there anything more empowering than a woman sharing her voice when she felt she was never allowed to?
Through our digital platform, print publication, seasonal podcast, and events — For Women Who Roar is creating a movement that empowers women to share their stories through storytelling, inclusivity, and collaboration.
We are so excited to be releasing our second print issue on Power featuring the brave stories, art, poetry, and interviews with women who roar.
What’s special about each issue is that it is centered around a specific theme in conjunction with a seasonal podcast and specialized events that provide ways for women to engage with the content through writing prompts, workshops, and embodied storytelling events.
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
More than ever, women long to be heard in a society that has tried to muffle them. Women who have known sexual violence as a form of flattery. Women who were told their body wasn't good enough and doubted their potential. Women who felt like their mental illness was something they had to hide in order to be loved or respected. Women of color whose experiences were invalidated and appropriated. Women who some don't identify as women and hide in fear of being truly seen. Women in business that felt like that could never get ahead because their idea's weren't being heard. The list goes on and on.
When we begin to create safe spaces for women to tell their stories, we will begin to elevate our workspaces, our relationships, and our overall wellbeing.
We believe that the pulse of story and branding is found in authenticity. When you scroll through our social, flip through our magazine, and listen to our podcast —you will hear from real women telling real stories. We are cultivating a community that values authenticity over filters and honesty over ego. At For Women Who Roar we are curating content that is candid, vulnerable, and ultimately transformational.
We believe storytelling can heal the world.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do at FWWR. We believe that if you are storyteller then you are an advocate, and if you are a listener then you are also an advocate.
When we share the suppressed stories within, we are advocating for our wounded self. When we listen to another share their story through nonfiction, interviews, poetry, and/or art, then we are saying to them, ‘your voice matters. Your story matters too.’
WE HAVE BIG DREAMS.
But they are not impossible. In less then eight months we have grown a global community of women organically to over 100k with thousands added daily. What does this mean? It means that women crave authentic storytelling and a community in which they can connect, collaborate, and share their voice. This is where you come in! We need your help to fund and expand:
* Our biannual print magazine featuring the voices and stories of women
* Our seasonal podcast where we interview empowering women weekly
* Launch intimate FWWR chapters nationally and abroad and where women can meet together monthly to inspire and create
* Create an annual FWWR summit where women, speakers, artists, and poets come together in a never before seen empowering event.
