Hi, I'm Stevie, Chief Woodworker for BUILT BY STEVIE.

I design and build custom wood furniture, in Nashville, TN.

I am a self-taught gal in a male-dominated industry.

I began my business after I purchased a new house.

Two things happened: First, I needed furniture to fill my guest rooms. Second, my uncle gave me a miter as a housewarming gift.

Being the go-getter that I am, I got to work and starting making my own furniture.

I made a headboard and then I made a built in desk. Then I made a large farmhouse table to host family dinners.  I could not stop my hands from creating and building with wood.  After my house was filled with custom-made pieces, my friends and family started asking me to make them custom pieces for their homes and offices.

And next thing I knew, BUILT BY STEVIE was born.

My hobby turned into a full-time job in January of 2016.  I love walking into the shop every day and creating beautiful, custom pieces of furniture for my clients.

I am a dreamer, a BIG dreamer!  My goal is to have BUILT BY STEVIE furniture all over the country.  I want to teach more gals about woodworking, installing"we can do it" in their everyday lives.  

I am raising money on IFW to expand my business.

*I have appreciated the amazing word-of-mouth advertising by family and friends… you!  To take Built By Stevie to the next level, professional advertising/marketing is important.

*Several pieces of equipment for the shop would increase production and the quality of custom-made furniture I can bring into your homes.

*And… along the vein of IFW.com, let's hire some gals and who share the love of woodworking!  My dream is to build Built By Stevie into a powerhouse in the male-dominated world of woodworking.
