The Beauty Lounge Minneapolis and The Nail Bar are partnering to open a combined salon space that unites the Twin Cities across ethnic, gender, and economic barriers through beauty.

ABOUT THE SALON

The Twin Cities needs a  beauty space where everyone feels welcomed. Salon spaces are usually not diverse and the staff does not mirror the clientele. As the demographics of our community change, multiracial families need spaces where everyone in the family can receive services. Often times, nail salons can feel like a revolving door and the experience is impersonal. Hair and nails have a natural synergy so The Beauty Lounge and The Nail Bar are a perfect match.

The Nail Bar launched in a pilot phase 6 weeks ago and has been embraced by the Twin Cities community.  We are excited to grow into a larger salon space so we continue to build upon the momentum.

OUR PURPOSE

The Beauty Lounge Minneapolis and The Nail Bar believe that salons are meant to be social spaces, and that beauty services can be the glue that brings people together.

Our clients are busy professional women who don't always have a lot of time for self care. We are making their lives easier by providing both services under one roof, and utilizing a one-stop booking solution. The space will also offer amenities to cater to their lifestyle.

HOW WE ARE GROWING

• New Space / New Equipment - We are moving into a bigger salon space that will allow for a more luxury experience and true expansion of services. 
• Service Memberships - Monthly hair and/or nail service memberships that offer exclusive rewards and discounts to members
• Hair Education - Curated classes that focused on managing and maintaining your hair and your child's hair 
• Events / Networking Opportunities - We will be hosting events in the space that bring together our clients and community 
• Retail Expansion - We will become a destination retailer of your favorite local beauty products.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?

We needed to be creative about funding, laser focused on building a thriving business crowdfunding allows us to expand the way that we need without accruing crippling debt. 

The funding we are seeking will be used to build infrastructure, increase both services, and create programming and educational offerings. 

ABOUT US

Melissa Taylor, Owner of The Beauty Lounge Minneapolis, has been a stylist for 10 years and has owned the salon for 7 years, which has given her a deep understanding of hair texture education fluency in creating spaces that embrace diversity.

Kiara Ellis, Owner of The Nail Bar, has been a nail enthusiast for over 12 years and discovered her place of self-care was in the nail and beauty space. Her professional passions have always lied in creating meaningful experiences for all people regardless of their background and at The Nail Bar will ensure clients walk away looking and feeling better than they arrived.

Together they are focused on changing the beauty experience by offering transparent beauty education, tailored services, in an inclusive space.
