- What is the mission of your company or project?
- - My mission is to empower women in our community by teaching them how to bake and start up small homebaking business that will help eleviate financial hardship this pandemic
- Describe the problem you are solving.
- - Our country was hard hit economically during pademic, many women lost their job specially those minimum daily wage earner that cause them to feel hopeless on how to survive and how to help their family
- What is the market size/opportunity?
- - Women from our nearby villages and church community
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem?
- - I am a baker that started a side hustle at home for three years. I bake cookies and banana loaves after work to support my family. Just in time i resigned from my work and decided to go full time in baking, pandemic hit and we're on lockdown for the whole country. I got hopeless and distressed on what to do next, I thought I need to stop baking because of pandemic but it turned out that it will be the start of my most busiest day in the kitchen. People started to order online for cakes and pastries and have it delivered at home since they cannot go out. Now I have a commissary and six branches for three cities here in our country. Through this experience i can help women to see hope again and see the beauty of their journey no matter how hard it is because there is always hope, we just need to empower them and teach them new skill to carry on with them.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding?
- - I am seeking funding so that this project will reach many women and will not just be limited once project will get started. I will spend the fund in buying baking equipments and supplies that they can start using at home because baking supplies and equipments are very expensive here in our country.
- Who is on your team? - my twin sister who also bake and my two staff who can assist me in teaching new skills to these women. I can also include the local officials so it will be well coordinated and so that we can reach to women who are in need
