Project Description

  • Problem: We recognized current modes of hiring are time-consuming, costly, and inefficient, so we created SeekerPitch.
  • Solution: SeekerPitch is a platform that connects companies with Millennial/GenZ talent through comprehensive profiles and virtual speed interviewing (like speed dating).
  • Niche: Focused on Digital Business Operations jobs. As companies are now so dependent on software they need tech-capable talent managing, operating, and building processes within various departments to support the operation. We will have that talent and be the one-stop shop for jobs like this, especially for smaller tech-enable companies (<250 employees). This is the future of work.
  • Traction: We’ve got a strong founding team, done market validation with over 400 people, gotten 50+ email signups in 2 weeks, 250 followers on Instagram in 3 weeks, have a pre-product responsive prototype, back-end tech design ready, building our sales pipeline with weekly calls, and more.
  • Raising: We’re currently raising a $500k pre-seed round and that will give us 12 months of runway until our Seed round September ‘21.  
  • Seeking funding from those who want to revolutionize the way jobseekers are seen and speed up the process for great companies who want to hire top talent. 
  • Mission: Showcase the soft skills of millennials and GenZ jobseekers so hiring managers can have quick comprehensive insight of viable candidates. We are going to use the funds we raise to transform our product design into a usable product!

  • Samantha Hepler is co-founder and CEO with a breadth of experience in digital transformation and process enhancement across various verticals and departments. She's equipped to run a lean and effective organization as well as solve for the archaic process that is hiring. Samriddhi Sharma is co-founder and CTO. She is a full-stack engineer, experienced in leading development teams and building solution architecture.

  • You've got a 2-sided market place how are you going to get jobseekers and hiring managers on the platform?
    We are have a two-part plan: 

    1. Get the Jobseeker: Our plan is to release beta v1 at the end of February 2021 to get jobseekers (our supply) on the platform first. These are jobseekers we will have been engaging for months, have signed up to be a first user on our website, and follow us on social media. Additionally, we'll source more jobseekers through LinkedIn and with targeted paid marketing with the prospect of their profiles being hand-delivered directly to companies that are hiring. We will be showing our "supply" to the companies and showcasing jobseeker profiles will absolutely be a part of that. The jobseeker profiles will also be publicly viewable and shareable even to those not a member on the platform, so jobseekers can link their profiles on their resumes/LinkedIn, etc. to drive more traffic to SeekerPitch.

    2. Get the companies: Beta v2 will be ready at the end of April 2021 and we will be ready for the companies hiring to create their profiles, post jobs, host seekerpitches (aka speed interviews) and more. Currently we speak to 5-10 hiring managers at target prospects per week. By end of April 2021 we will have a pipeline of nearly 400 recruiters we can call upon. So far, 97% of the people we speak with have said they would love a call back the system is ready and they'd be glad to give a test spin. We also are considering starting in a few particular markets and are open to the possibility of pairing up with a future investor and be the go to place for their portfolio job listings to gain traction and support of targeted communities. Lastly, we will have a targeting marketing budget to carryout fruitful campaigns and drive traffic to the site.

  • How will you make money? How much could you make?
    We will be subscription based, charging only companies, at $400 per user per month. In five years we could be at $37M in ARR.
     
  • What's new about what you're making? What substitutes do people resort to because it doesn't exist yet (or they don't know about it)?

    1. Our focus on business digital operations jobs market is new. It's an emerging niche within operations jobs as more and more companies are deemed software dependent. Almost every company is a software company these days and they need people to operate those systems and manage relations with regards to those systems (i.e.; marketing ops, sales ops, customer success manager, project manager, etc.). There's no one place to go for these jobs. People resort to LinkedIn and BuiltIn for these types of jobs.

    2. Speed interviewing. We are setting out to normalize the "5 minute" screening conversation to saving recruiters time. With SeekerPitch they'll be able speak to up to 8 candidates in one hour. Today they spend an average of 63 minutes per candidate screening them. Not to mention, candidates have to have the perfect "keyword" resume or know someone to get facetime with a recruiter. Now, they have a much better chance of landing a conversation.

    3. Video oriented. Our target audience are Millennials/GenZers - the "look at me" generations. SeekerPitch jobseeker profiles give them the opportunity to make a 30 second intro video and tell a bit about themselves and their preferences as an individual. Conversely, hiring managers can post a video along with their written job description. This gives them the chance to fully articulate who they're looking for and shows jobseekers exactly who they'd be working for. Today people depend on LinkedIn to show themselves off, but its very constrained and exposed to your peers. With SeekerPitch you make profiles solely for the purpose of getting a job or finding a jobseeker; you're peers aren't looking, you do you, boo.
