Why you should take this workshop

31% of women founders cite lack of a support system as a hurdle to business ownership, and this lack of access to connections is almost twice as bad for women of color. Community plays an important role in the life of an entrepreneur—from funding opportunities to mentorship. In this workshop, led by IFundWomen's VP of Entrepreneur Success, Olivia Owens, you'll learn what community really means, the different roles it can play in your business journey, and how to start building your own community from scratch.

About the coach

Olivia Owens is the Vice President of Entrepreneur Success at IFundWomen and the Creator of IFundWomen of Color. IFundWomen is the go-to funding marketplace for women-owned businesses and the people who want to support them with access to capital, coaching, and connections.

In January of 2020, Olivia developed IFundWomen of Color, a program dedicated to advancing BIPOC entrepreneurs by addressing the unique pain points diverse founders face when it comes to accessing capital for their businesses. This funding ecosystem is designed to empower early-stage, women entrepreneurs and bridge the funding gap for women of color.

Before launching IFundWomen of Color, Olivia’s leadership brokered critical partnerships to help scale the business (Unilever, Visa, adidas). She supported the creation of IFundWomen’s proprietary coaching program and helped build-out one of the nation’s largest connected communities of women business owners through the platform. Today, she leads the Entrepreneur Success team focused on building strong relationships with the IFundWomen community to support them at every stage of their funding journey.

Olivia was recently featured on Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Social Impact and previously held positions at Under Armour in People & Culture. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
