Young Authors Publishing is a children's book publisher that publishes books written by minority children.

Who We Are:
Young Authors Publishing is a diverse children's book publisher that exists to share the stories of Black and Brown children. Our two-part mission is to help share more diverse and culturally relevant children's books to our readers and to use book publishing as a self-sufficient pathway for our young authors.
What We Do:
Children do not have books where they see themselves and their experiences reflected. Less than 7% of children's books are written by diverse authors. Young Authors Publishing solves this problem by providing a holistic solution that:
1. Helps children of color write their own children's books with the help of a writing mentor during our Experience Program
2. Professionally publish and distribute their diverse books
3. Direct their book sales to a secured savings account for each young author to use towards their post secondary plans
What We've Done:
Since launching in 2018, we've published 23 books by children of color living in Atlanta GA, and we've hired and trained 10 college interns of color on book publishing. All of our published books are distributed through Ingram Content Group, the largest book distributor in the country.
Why We're Crowdfunding:
We're raising $50,000 to publish ten new books, hire 5 college interns of color, and print 7,500 copies of our books to distribute to our readers globally.

The Young Authors Publishing team is uniquely qualified to do this work. We bring education, brand development and innovation to the publishing industry. We were also our own customers and know the challenge of getting your story told and experienced the lack of accurate representation in the books we read growing up.

Why are we raising funds?
We are raising funds to publish more books written by children, this will cover the cost of distribution, production and printing for 10 new books. This will also cover the cost of our writing mentors stipends who are college interns seeking a career in publishing.
Is this all the funding you need?
No, this is the official kickoff of our fourth cohort of young authors! We’re also currently seeking brand partners and donors who align with our values and who are just excited about this opportunity as we are. The Young Authors Publishing expansion will be unlike any traditional publishing seen before and we’re eager to bring brands along for this incredible journey.
