WORTHY is a self-care studio on a mission to increase access to science-backed wellness services that help humans feel good, function optimally and thrive, because we believe that everyone is WORTHY of wellness.
In today's society, stress and inevitable burnout seem to be the norm. Most folks are overworked, exhausted, short on time, and juggling many responsibilities all at once. For many, the idea of self-care can feel elusive. For busy parents, self-care can feel impossible.
There is an increasing demand for impactful self-care and wellness services around the United States, however, the overwhelming demand is not being met for the demographics of Berkeley.
The self-care market size is $450 billion (2020) which skyrocketed from just $10 billion in 2014. With a prime location in Berkeley's Elmwood District, we are uniquely positioned to serve a highly diverse demographic of people, especially busy parents, high-performance types, athletes, and biohacking aficionados.
WORTHY is a unique place where guests can come and use the power of science to relax, optimize and revive their bodies in as little as 20 minutes. Efficiency is key in what we offer at WORTHY. After the last 18 months, we've learned that self-care is a necessity for our health and wellbeing, not a luxury.
Our services include:
Infrared Saunas
Red Light Therapy
Guided Cold-Plunging
Lymphatic Massage
Meditation
Onsite Childcare
Our guests can reap the physical benefits of our science-backed services and experience optimal wellness, in addition to the mental satisfaction of taking time for their self-care. And for the busy parents in our community, they never have to choose between their self-care needs and their parenting responsibilities. Ease and convenience are critical.
We are also community-minded. To help folks who have previously been unable to access services like ours, we started WORTHY Wellness Initiative (501c3) a non-profit dedicated to bridging the wellness gap. Members of WORTHY and the Berkeley community can make tax-deductible Pay-it-Forward contributions to our non-profit so that we can provide our services for free or reduced rates to folks who qualify.
We are seeking funding for help in opening our doors to our community. Funds will go toward overhead costs like rent and labor as we build our business and clientele.
Our founder, Meliza Mokrani is a seasoned wellness professional, entrepreneur, mother, athlete, disability advocate, and community leader.
Thank you so much for your support and for being a critical part in bringing WORTHY to the world. Our hearts are so full of gratitude for your generous backing!
