The Opportunity to Solve for Working Moms 

 
The demand on working moms during this pandemic will lead to a gender gap increase by 50%. The hard work and progress made for working moms will come to a halt or decrease if active solutions are not provided. Work Life Success is an all-inclusive solution to help businesses improve engagement, productivity, and well-being success of working mom, parent and caretaker demographic. In this innovative platform, working moms have the ability to customize action plans that align with their current demand, in addition, we provide LIVE weekly coaching support to give real-time expertise to challenges they may face while helping them with strategies to sustain their success in engagement and productivity. Report outs are sent to leaders so they can easily measure work life success progress. 
As a working mom of 4 young children with industry experience as an Engineer and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, I directly understand the challenges, the current impact that working moms are facing and the strategies needed to yield success in the retention and engagement of working moms in the workplace.

Work Life Success uses Engineering principles to solve the challenges of the working mom. That's right! Working moms using engineering principles. Not only are working parents improving how they can be more productive and engaging, but they enhance their skill set, further supporting how they show up in solving opportunities that can impact the success of companies. How exciting is that! What inspired the creation of Work Life Success? 

I found myself needing to pivot in early March. The sudden stay-at-home orders due to COVID meant increased demand to manage virtual schooling needs for my oldest three children and shifting my business model whose revenue solely relied on in-person coaching and consulting services. The challenges I experienced were immediate. Before I could even focus on my business, my children needed me in more ways than usual. Even though the usual is a high demand. After reaching out to working moms in my network, I noticed they were in great need for support and solutions to manage their increased demand while meeting work needs in a work culture still adapting to work-from-home settings. This led to the creation of Work Life Success, a platform for companies to customize action plans that align with the demand of working parents and caretakers. The most complex projects I have solved in my career involved using engineering principles. It was only fitting for me to align my approach professionally to my own personal life and in the lives of working parents across the nation. 

 

 

Why am I the right person to solve this current issue?

I am Domonique Townsend, a native Nashvillian who is a wife, mom of 4, engineer, certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and business owner. I directly understand the challenges, the current impact that working moms are facing and the strategies needed to yield success in the retention and engagement of working moms in the workplace.  

 

 

What am I raising money? How much am I raising? 

My goal is to impact the lives of 10,000 working mothers over the course of the next 12 months. To accomplish this, I will need to raise a total of $35,000 to cover the following: 
  • A more robust software development platform. I want to ensure that our platform maintains its effectiveness in how we onboard and support people in Work Life Success. Continuous research and development on our focus demographic, physiological and professional impacts with companies and working parents and outreach with executive leaders to ensure that we continue to bridge existing gaps. 
  • Additional costs for support and improvements:  
    • Software development updates and maintenance 
    • Resource support (contracted experts to support current capacity) for LIVE coaching  + consulting support services that are offered in our Work Life Success platform
    • Research and development needs for effectiveness
    • Website development and corporate outreach 
    • Data collection and analysis support for customized reports

 

Why should companies, sponsors and individual supporters see this as important? 

The lack of resources for working moms is predicted to be a $341 Billion Dollar loss in productivity in the US workplace. Not only will the well-being of working moms (including parents + caretakers) be negatively impacted, but the performance of companies across the US will experience a negative impact without diverse demographics that are critical to the talent pipeline. 

 

 

What brings me to you is my passion to provide a platform that supports the current and future needs of the working mother and parent demographic. Over the past few decades there has been a significant increase in the number of working mothers who have higher level of education and are choosing to stay in the workplace after having children. These mothers have ambitious goals and increased demand to reach new heights in their career. It seems that the makeup of existing beliefs and standards does not match up to the rise of our today's working mothers. We are essentially in uncertain times where old traditional flows of what is effective in the workplace has been disrupted due to the pandemic. I want to provide solutions that bridges resource gaps that exists with increased demand of managing schooling while working from home. 

The workday has an opportunity to evolve. 

Operating during atypical hours and accomplishing results with higher efficiency and effectiveness is the key to success for the working mom and parent. 

This is why Work Life Success has been created.
