WMC Public Health Consulting

The WMC Public Health Consulting was founded by working mothers who witnessed gaps in the corporate wellness and working mother sphere. Working and motherhood are two concepts that have rarely been blended and nurtured to help a woman thrive.

In a time where women are the future and can go catch their dreams, there is still a gap in support from a societal and professional perspective especially when it comes to wellness. The mission of WMC Public Health Consulting is to ensure that working mothers everywhere are provided the support needed in the workplace to be homemakers and career leaders in their maximum potential and maximal health and wellness.

The mission of WMC is to provide consulting services and advocacy to working mothers. This includes workplace resources and training to mothers and their work sites and communities to support the modern working mother. The values that guide these methods are through compassion, enthusiasm, simplicity, and evidence-based practice.

The specific objectives and purpose of our organization are:

• To provide holistic health services that address the health and wellness needs of the working mother through services of teaching, coaching, and resources both for the workplace and for the home;

• To empower working women and their employers to provide the career and family life balance that fits the needs within their workplace and promotes health and wellness regardless of ethnic group or socioeconomic standing;

• To enrich the nation by empowering communities of working mothers to connect, share, and eliminate the barriers often associated with working motherhood through sense of community and wellness;

• To create programs, products, and services that will provide opportunities for working mothers to grow professionally, personally, and in health.

Through our services we are able to decrease health disparities working women, namely mothers, face such as anxiety, depression,and various chronic diseases such as elevated blood pressure, cholesterol, risk of heart disease, and many others. In providing health services that serve the business and serve the woman as an individual, positive outcomes are inevitable. 

We firmly believe we will be able to increase health markers around chronic disease through our health and wellness services. With our organization we are truly able to serve any working mother anywhere. The goal is to provide services in our communities locally and country wide for organizations interested in either bringing us in person or signing up for services virtually through courses and webinars. Typically target companies are those most receptive to worksite culture improvement and refinement such as technology, health, legal, information technology, and the hospitality industries. The sky's the limit! 

In seeking this funding we will use all proceeds to fund the creation of the tools, services, and programs discussed above, and starting to implement these programs in organizations and institutions in need but could not afford our services otherwise. 

Things needed from this funding: 

-material creation for health promotion events

-course creation (content + software)

-pilot of programs to less fortunate institutions and organizations

-creation of content 

-initial pilot of rendering services through workshops, coaching, webinars, etc.

Initially our team consists of Giana and Liz who will render services, manage the business, and start rendering services. Eventually we will hire outside contractors to carry out this work but we must first create success stories and generate revenue and funding to do so. We also have a board of directors who are dedicated to the oversight of our mission and vision and help to manage the activities with the mission.
