Wells River Wellness Hall

In much of Vermont driving an hour just to pick up fish oil or get a massage is what people have to do.  There is not a local place to get their vitamins, care for themselves and connect with community. People in rural Vermont want the chance to find wellness and have access to the same high quality of care as the cities offer.

Wells River Wellness Hall is a space where a collective of healers have come together to offer a variety of healing to Vermonters. Located in the historic Wells River Village Hall, this building was meant to serve its community.  At the Wellness Hall we believe that wellness starts at home, that as a community we can bring wellness not only ourselves but our community.

Located in the heart of Wells River, this was built in 1908 at the village hall.  It was built to serve as a gathering place for local community events. We are returning this beautiful building back to it original purpose.  

What we offer

• The first ada compliant floor will have local, independent wellness professionals such as, massage therapist, reflexologist, reiki practitioners, health coaches, family counselor, health classes and so much more.  This will allow them to start or expand their independent businesses while collaborating with other wellness professionals.

• Rising Spirit Yoga studio will relocate into the Wellness hall

• In addition there will be customers will be able to purchase  with a variety of high quality supplements, wellness apparel, essential oils and much more.  Many sourced from local vendors.

• People will be walking into a welcoming environment where they will be able to relax and begin their wellness journey.  

• The second floor will be the community space.  There will be dance, movement classes, movie nights, children’s birthday parties, and a place to gather together as a community.  

The space

The Wellness hall was built in 1908. While preserving as much history as possible such as the pressed tin ceilings on the south side of the building. We are upgrading the windows, heating and plumbing to bring this historic building into the 21st century.  

Walking in, you will be greeted by a warm inviting, waiting room and retail area including an array of vitamins, supplements, yoga apparel, essential oils and more wellness products.

• Each practitioner’s office will be finished to welcome each person and create a warm relaxing environment.  

• A break room for practitioners to have meals, prepare snacks and provide what they need for their clients.

• The second floor will stay a large open space.  Event chairs and tables will be available as needed. The tall ceilings with original beautiful, pressed tin and stage will make this an ideal space for many gatherings.  

Why the Wells River Wellness Hall is needed

 We believe everyone should have access to wellness no matter where they live.  True wellness begins at home and in the community. We are creating a space focussed on community.  A place where we can come together for a movie, a staff meeting, or to get a massage. We want a place for our children to gather and thrive.  When we bring the community together amazing things can be accomplish.

Kelsey Root-Winchester, Co-Founder

Kelsey is a yoga teacher and owner of Rising Spirit Yoga. Kelsey is also a health coach and Reiki practitioner. She serves on the Blue Mountain Union School Board, and  302 Cares drug prevention coalition.  She has been in the in the health and wellness industry for 13 years.  She began by working at an integrative pharmacy, she studied nutrition in college and received her health coaching certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  Kelsey completed her yoga teacher training while pregnant with her son.

Jason Winchester, Co-Founder

Jason has been a master carpenter and contractor for many years. He  has built several homes of his own, including his current home. He is known for his expert work and attention to detail. He has a passion for restoring buildings to their original beauty.  Jason has also been serving his community by being a volunteer firefighter for the past 30 years.

WHY CROWDFUNDING?

We looked into many different paths to fund The Wells River Wellness Hall including traditional funding from investors and banks. But at the end of the day those options don't reflect our mission of being built by the community, for the community. Nor do they value the same things we do: we are building the Wells River Wellness Hall because it's part of our life's work - we are not building it to scale it and sell it. We believe the power of the Wells River Wellness Hall lies with the community so we decided to turn to iFundWomen, a female only crowdfunding platform, to get the job done. Funds secured through our crowdfunding campaign will be used to build out our physical space, and bring the hall into the 21st century.
