Joybound Publications is an instructional design company and publishing house that creates specific curriculums for communication disorders, to be used by speech-language pathologists. 

Joybound Publications is dedicated to leveling the playing field for special populations and allowing each child the opportunity to shine through individualized learning. With the production of specialized curriculums and supporting materials that encompass the scope and sequence required in general education classrooms, we ensure equal representation of special populations in substantive and meaningful curriculum. 

There are no current curriculums for students with speech and language disorders. Curriculum provides a standard of care and accountability across schools and professionals. It ensures students don’t have gaps in learning, that skills build in a developmentally appropriate way, and that children have access to the same material across professionals. 

Joybound curriculums are the only curriculums on the market for speech, language, and communication disorders. 

Our first box kit is Joybound Fluency Elementary, a comprehensive curriculum for students who stutter in grades K-5. 

Market

There is high demand for speech therapy services for children and high growth potential for the speech disorder segment. According to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders data, approximately 1 in 12 (7.7%) U.S. children aged between 3 years and 17 years has had a disorder related to voice, speech, language, or swallowing over the last 12 months. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, excellent job opportunities in speech-language pathology are expected to grow by 25 percent from 2019 to 2029, faster than the average for all occupations. 

All public and private schools are mandated by law to provide speech therapy services. Joybound Fluency Elementary is intended for one box kit curriculum per elementary campus or private practice location, just like a reading or math curriculum.

There are currently over 137,000 public schools in the United States.

Your Support

In 2023, Joybound exhibited at two industry specific conventions. As a result, Joybound Fluency Elementary is now selling in 7 states and 2 countries. 

Our goal for 2024 is to attend two larger conventions. Each convention will cost approximately $6,000 for us to attend. Revenue obtained from these two conventions, however, is projected to be enough to translate Joybound Fluency Elementary into Spanish and begin development of our second box kit curriculum: Joybound Level 1, an elementary curriculum for receptive and expressive language disorders.
