Did you see Amy Schumer’s wedding? Or Serena Williams’? They rented picturesque private estates for their nuptials and had the entire property to themselves. They spent quality time with their guests and partied until the wee hours, all while designing an event that reflected *their* personal style.
Venues & Vows is on a mission to give couples that same experience and, access to private estates by uncovering underutilized private properties.
How do we do it? Well, let’s say you have a wealthy Aunt or Uncle who happens to own an extra house that they don’t use that often (put us in touch, will ya?)…we find those properties and contact your Aunt/Uncle to create another revenue stream for them and, exclusive access for couples (you!).

So, you also do bachelor/ette parties?
Yes! The experience you have at a bachelor/ette while staying together in one house vs. being spread out throughout a hotel just doesn't compare. We identify homes that work for groups large and small, and offer the same advantages of having your wedding at a private estate. Oh, we also pre-screen the houses so that the owners have no issue with your late-night dance-off.
Why Did You Start Venues & Vows?
Simply put: there is gap in the market. People want personalization, flexibility and a longer experience. There is no single place or platform that provides a consolidated list of these types of venues, provides transparent pricing and an easy way to book online. That's why I started it.

In 2014 I had five friends who got engaged and were looking for wedding venues. They had crazy spreadsheets and Pinterest boards and spent hours (DAYS) looking for a venue. Every time I talked to them there were two pain points they kept reiterating:
1. I don’t want to have my wedding at a “traditional” venue because that’s what everyone does; I want it to be special and reflect the style of my fiancée and I
2. The prices are bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
This didn’t add up for me. I started doing research and found out that they were not only correct in that venues are difficult to find and pricing isn’t transparent but this whole wedding industry is a RACKET and punishingly expensive. I say “punishingly” because it actually seems like you’re being penalized for getting married. The price of traditional venues skyrockets as soon as you utter the word “wedding”.
I researched many websites and alternatives. I came up with a few test ideas first. Then, while riding in an Uber, I had an epiphany…why not insert the concept of the sharing economy into the wedding venue market. In fact, why not partner with property owners and large land owners to create those picturesque venues that people are longing for? Venues & Vows was born.
The funds we raise through our iFundWomen campaign will go directly towards technology & marketing.
Technology: We have several technology improvements we are targeting including a way to split payments with family and friends. We are also designing a budget tool that automates how to allocate your money across different wedding expenses while providing vendor options.
Marketing: Competing in the wedding industry is hard but we know we have a compelling product and message. We will be spending money on getting that message out to as many people as possible so they can take advantage of the Venues & Vows platform and service.

How do I know a property will work for my wedding?
We scour the venue landscape to identify properties that we pre-screen, visit and validate. We only list properties that we know will work (yes, we have turned a few properties down because they just didn’t make sense).
What is the cost of these venues?
You know when you look at other venue listings on wedding sites and they show you something like “$$$” to indicate the price of a venue?
We don’t do that. We show you actual numbers so you know exactly how much a venue costs and what is included with the venue.
How do you save couples money?
There are many ways we save couples money but here are some of our customer’s favorites:
When you book a property on Venues & Vows, your friends/family stay with you at the estate/mansion/ranch instead of staying at a hotel. This means, they actually cover a portion of the cost of the property!
There are no vendor requirements/restrictions, which allows you to save money on everything from food and alcohol to lighting and flowers.
You don’t pay extra for delivery and pick/up fees for a Saturday. Instead, you can have them drop it off on Friday and pick up on Sunday, if you’d like.
