The Vanguard House is an empowering and productive home for the modern day womxn. We are dedicated to the economic, social and personal growth of womxn. We believe this community workspace will unlace and support the limitless possibilities for all womxnkind!
Navigating todays world as a woman, one who identifies as and/or being a mother is no easy task. We believe that creating a brave, inspiring and inclusive space for our womxn to gather is essential to their well being. Our goal is to create a dynamic space that offers multiple work space solutions, on-site short term child care (aka PlayCare) and amenities to create a whole mind and body approach to life.
We will offer a tier of annual memberships to meet the needs of womxn in our community:
8x8 and 10x10 private offices
Includes a secured file cabinet
Assortment of open seating
Use of all open seating and amenities
For the past year we have been surveying womxn in Buffalo to learn what their biggest struggles are as working womxn and mothers. The top 3 responses are- time management, self care and child care options. Our response is to create a space where womxn can tackle their to-do list or unplug for some much needed self care.
WHY WE NEED YOU!
A recent study by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) stated that 74% of women cannot find funding for their business. Even more disheartening– in 2018 only 2.2% of 96.7 BILLION dollars of capital venture funds were awarded to women.
After looking into many avenues of funding we decided that crowdfunding was the best option to kickstart our capital raise while we bring on investors. We are building a community space for womxn so seeking community support is a win win. Your financial support is important to the overall success of this project. We can't thank you enough for believing in our mission to support the womxn of Buffalo!
*The term Womxn is an alternative term for the English language word women which has been regularly in use since 2015 to explicitly include transgender women and women of color. Our on-going mission to create an inclusive and equitable community starts here.
