The Music City Icons Professional Women’s Basketball Team, located in Nashville, TN is excited to announce that they will be participating in the 2021 COPABI Women's Basketball Showcase Tournament in Yauco, Puerto Rico. https://copabipr.eventbrite.com.
The Tournament will start on Thursday, June 10, 2021 and end on Monday, June 14, 2021.
This season the Music City Icons will be sponsoring six players to paly in The COPABI Tournament. We will be paying for all tournament fee, plus accommodations, and transportation in Puerto Rico. Once the players are selected they will be required to complete a series of online training courses to include:
- Financial Empowerment: Step-by-Step Process to Money Management
- 10 Tips to Starting and Succeeding in Business
- Building Your Brand as an Athlete
- How to Prepare for a Career After Basketball
The Music City Icon’s primary goal is to help women basketball players take their basketball careers to the next level, whether it’s getting the opportunity to play in the WNBA or playing on an International Team. We strive to help our players build opportunities beyond basketball.
The COPABI Tournament offers players an opportunity to play in an international basketball tournament against professional teams from Puerto Rico. Coaches and owners from Puerto Rico’s professional league, the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF), will be attending the COPABI Tournament to sign players for the 2021 season.
Gamble Sports Management will be evaluating players for job openings in Europe, Australia, and South America. Some players may be selected to play in exhibition games against the Puerto Rican Women's Olympic Team.
Tournament games will be played Friday through Sunday. The Tournament will include professional teams from Puerto Rico. The teams with the best record will play for the Tournament Championship. Awards will be given to the COPABI Champion and the Tournament MVP.
