Hello Amazing People!
I am closing the ZipToYou campaign on IFundWomen. But have no fear!!!
After a lot of research and deliberation, I realized that the effort to bring better rideshare services shouldn't be done by a sole proprietor. Learning about The Drivers Cooperative (https://drivers.coop) encouraged me to change my business model to that of a cooperative or co-op.
ZipToYou will now be the Minnesota Rideshare Cooperative. The name, website, social media, and logo will soon reflect the Co-op. The cooperative framework will bring greater transparency and accountability to the business.
The Co-op will offer what ZipToYou was offering: an app-based rideshare service where passengers can choose drivers and drivers can set rates. Now, though, these very same passengers and drivers will have an opportunity to gain equity in the business.
I have formed a Steering Committee to lay the groundwork for the co-op. The app is still being developed, but now I'll have additional help! You donations were crucial to getting the app started and we hope to secure additional funding soon.
