Unleashed Coffee

For far too long there has been a grave inequality for farmers within the coffee industry. Farmers work extremely hard, spending long hours on the farm to produce the highest quality coffee beans. Negotiations for pricing only benefit the large coffee companies and middlemen, while the farmer is paid low wages leaving them and their families at risk for living in poverty.

Our company was co-founded by a Brazilian coffee farmer whose family has been growing coffee for generations. Because he had experienced firsthand the inequalities and injustices shouldered by the farmers that supplied the coffee industry, he wanted to disrupt that cycle and put in place a model that he hoped to become the industry norm - paying farmers a fair wage for their hard work.

Every day, we work to further our mission of fairness in coffee farming by sourcing all of our coffee beans directly from the farmers we have built relationships with - no middlemen and no compromise on quality.

Unleashed Coffee is for coffee lovers of any gender that prefer specialty coffee over mass produced, big brand coffee. They not only want to enjoy their coffee, they want to know the story behind it - where it comes from, who grows it, how it's grown, and how it affects the people and environment. Sustainability and fairness in trade are important factors in determining where they spend their dollars.

I've been a long time coffee enthusiast and when I made the decision to transition from teaching to the coffee industry, I spent a lot of time seeking education not only on roasting and flavor profiles but understanding the coffee industry's practices. As I learned more about the coffee industry and the injustices faced by many farmers, I knew that I wanted to do my part to make a difference. So I bring my experience as an educator to the coffee table, enlightening coffee drinkers about the inequities in their cup, and encouraging them to help me make a difference in the lives of farmers one sip at a time. I also provide opportunities for customers to learn how to make a better cup of coffee at home through in-person workshops, demos, tasting flights, and online tutorials.

As an SCA-trained Coffee Professional and certified Q-Grader, I am the owner, CEO and roaster of Unleashed Coffee. Since taking the reins from the founders in January of 2021, I have vowed to follow in their footsteps to ensure fair pricing for both consumers and farmers.

I'm raising funds to invest in green coffee from my farming partners, the build-out of our Mobile Coffee Trailer for markets and events, and to fund marketing and brand awareness campaigns.
