TTYL's mission is to inspire people to have a healthier relationship with technology in order to live a more fulfilling life.

You can come to TTYL for a number of reasons!

Ever notice how frustrating it is when you go out with someone and they are on their phone? We have too and we want to offer a space where that never happens! This way, not only are you fully in the moment with the people or person you came with, but you're also more open to interacting with new people.

Do you ever feel like you just need a minute offline? We are constantly responding to people, checking our email, or posting to our social media platforms. Without our phones, we can take a well deserved break to focus on our mental health by having some good old fashioned fun!

Does having social media make you feel like you have to act a certain way? We know what that's like so we want to give you the chance to be your true self. No social media means you can let loose and make those ugly faces because we know you want to.

Find it hard to meet new people? The city is huge and it can be overwhelming. So many of us are on our phones walking around that we don't realize that we are missing out on making amazing genuine connections. At TTYL, call that stranger over to fill the fourth person in your game of Candy Land. You could've just met your new BFF.

TTYL is going to be a physical space that provides people with the opportunity to mingle by taking away the devices that hinder those experiences. 

Upon entry, you will hand over your phone to our phone check who will lock it in an individual safe. This will allow people to mingle and make genuine connections with one another over childhood board games, coloring, or just talking over beer/wine/food. Without phones, everyone is able to be themselves because they won't have to pose for the camera. 

I am seeking funding for a few initial pop-up weekends for TTYL. The goal is to have 2 or 3 of these and then eventually open up a full-time space. The long-term goal is to have educational workshops during the day and then the space will turn into a bar scene in the late afternoon. In addition, each night will be a different theme such as karaoke night, trivia night, and open mic night. I will spend the money through this campaign on rent, utilities, security, insurance, and activities. 

I have a team of 5 amazing women. Ava Lindsay and Sophie Krieger are both the Public Relations and Marketing Coordinators, Rachel Schardt is the Web Designer, Jess Bonaventura is the graphic designer, and Megan Tomei is the Social Media Coordinator. Check out our website to learn more about them!
