Who We Are

Tiny Bodega is an online and IRL grocery store experience that allows you to discover and shop BIPOC owned indie food and wellness brands. Our niche marketplace allows consumers to break through the noise and shop by value.

Mission:

Our mission is to forever focus on the visibility and equity of BIPOC food brands through technology, content, and social community.

How We Started

The emotional summer of 2020 shrouded with political, civil, and racial unrest was the ultimate catalyst that led to our creation. I took a personal look into how and where I spent my money and did a full audit of my pantry.  In the process, I started an Instagram account spotlighting the BIPOC owned food brands I recently discovered and personally enjoyed.  

It became apparent how essential it was to find a creative way to help these brands reach more people safely and efficiently in the midst of the pandemic. So, a few months later, I took it one step further and purchased my first round of inventory to launch the website.  What quickly grew was a close-knit, 'for us, by us,' community.

Where We're Headed

"The world deserves a marketplace dedicated to BIPOC food founders both online and IRL."

We currently offer discovery boxes featuring intolerance-friendly food products categorized by utility (i.e., snack, brunch, and dinner) and pair them with recipe cards authored by BIPOC content creators.

Goal:

With funding, we can offer more than just discovery boxes. We can expand our site to include more vendors, variety, and a build-your-own shopping cart experience. We can also bring our virtual storefront to the communities that need them the most starting with a modular structure for safe pop-up experiences giving access to low-income communities that currently face socio-economic barriers to healthy grocery shopping.
