Our Mission
At A Time Called Meow, we’re creating more than just a café—we’re building a cozy, welcoming space in Los Angeles where people can enjoy high-quality coffee and connect with adoptable cats in a stress-free environment. Our mission is to promote pet adoption, support animal welfare, and offer comfort, community, and caffeine—together in one unique space.
The Problem
Los Angeles is home to an estimated 960,000 unowned community cats. At the same time, many people, especially students, renters, and professionals, can’t adopt pets due to lifestyle limitations. There are also limited spaces that offer safe, healing interactions with animals—especially in a big, fast-paced city.
Market Opportunity
The U.S. pet industry exceeds $100B, and the café market is over $85B. Experience-driven businesses like cat cafés are growing 6% annually. LA’s population of pet lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and tourists makes it the ideal home for our venture.
Our Solution
A Time Called Meow blends a premium café experience with a cat adoption lounge. Customers can sip handcrafted drinks, relax, and interact with adoptable cats from local shelters. Special events like Cat Yoga and Paint & Purr Nights create community and support adoption awareness—all while you enjoy your favorite brew.

Our Team
Founded by Rosalyn Sto Domingo, an entrepreneur, cat lover, and café enthusiast with a passion for community and inclusion. She’ll be joined by a certified barista, a dedicated cat care specialist, and, as we grow, a team including individuals from underrepresented communities.

What is A Time Called Meow?
A Time Called Meow is a café and cat lounge launching in Los Angeles, where customers can sip handcrafted coffee, unwind in a cozy atmosphere, and interact with adoptable rescue cats. It's a unique, feel-good experience that supports local shelters and brings joy to our community—one cup and one purr at a time.
When will you open?
We are aiming to open between late 2025 and mid-2026, depending on the success of this campaign, buildout timelines, and permitting processes. We promise to keep all supporters updated with behind-the-scenes progress and sneak peeks!
Where will the café be located?
We're scouting spaces in vibrant, pet-friendly areas like Silver Lake, Downtown LA, or Santa Monica—places full of cat lovers, coffee fans, and foot traffic.
How will my contribution be used?
Your funding will directly support:
Securing and renovating a cat-safe café space
Purchasing coffee equipment, furniture, and pet supplies
Building out a cat lounge that meets health and safety standards
Initial staffing and shelter partnerships
Marketing and pre-opening community events
Will the cats be adoptable?
Absolutely! All cats in our lounge will be available for adoption through trusted local shelter partners. Our goal is to help every cat find a forever home—with your help.
When will I receive my reward?
Most digital rewards will begin delivery 1–3 months after our campaign ends. Physical and experience-based rewards will roll out when the café opens (estimated late 2025–mid 2026). We’ll stay in touch every step of the way.
Can I support without claiming a reward?
Yes! You can contribute any amount you'd like without selecting a reward. Every dollar matters, and every supporter becomes part of our founding community.
Are you accepting volunteers or future staff?
Yes! Once we’re closer to launch, we’ll post volunteer and job opportunities. We're especially committed to hiring and training individuals from underrepresented communities, including those with disabilities.
