The Hive is a hub for connecting and empowering North Idaho femmes. Part coworking, part learning annex, The Hive is designed with the needs of womxn in mind. From eclectic and collaborative seating areas, to workshops for personal and professional development, and dialogue that gets womxn talking, The Hive is a space where ambitious women, active entrepreneurs and experienced professionals can cross-pollinate, creating unlimited opportunities within our local ecosystem. 

Located on the corner of 4th and Indiana Ave in downtown Coeur d'Alene, The Hive boasts over 3,400 Sq. ft. of repurposed space with a design aesthetic developed by modern creative femmes. One eye on fashion, the other on thrift, the eclectic style and repurposed artistry within The Hive offers a unique canvas for capturing and pursuing a range of creative entrepreneurial endeavors.  A luminous event space plays hostess to workshops, pop-ups and evenings of forward-thinking dialogue. 

Hi, I'm Melinda Cadwallader. Along with her daughter Delia, we conceived The Hive as a community space to house hope and propel ambition, a space to turn the potholes of dead-end jobs into pathways of possibility.  

Womxn want empowering spaces to work. We need to be surrounded by other ambitious women who can show us what else is possible. Work has to look different for us, because life is different for us. We don't want dead-end jobs, we want launchpads to spring from. When given the proper space, education and ambition unlock resources that can propel us forward both personally, and professionally. 

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is host to incredible views that expand the mind, spur imagination and ignite big dreams. What we are missing is simply more launchpads to spring from, more access to resources, and more opportunities for creative entrepreneurs to flourish.The Hive stands as a physical hub in this digital age, a space for enhancing skills and at a price even an emerging professional can afford.

While Idaho ranks 49th in the Best /Worst states for women's equality, over $3 million is spent annually towards the rescue and rehabilitation of disempowered women. The good news: Idaho is 18th in the nation for growth in the number of women owned businesses, which means women are on the rise to economic independence. Now, we need more space to pursue it.

Our buildout included a media room suitable for creating podcasts, vlogs and live broadcasts, nooks for privacy and collaborative seating areas for connection. We host a conference room, powder room and a photography corner with lighting and backdrops. The opportunities to learn and grow here are endless. The Hive is a place for the ambitious femme to work independently, collaborate on projects, connect in real life and invest in herself.

The Hive is a "Yes, and..." space, it is for industry professionals and creative entrepreneurs, passion projects and side hustles, young adults and seasoned experts. This space is dedicated to advancement of all kinds. 

The Hive is offering local femmes the opportunity to experience The Hive for herself. Founding Membership is a one time deposit of $99, covering her first month of all inclusive coworking. During her first month, she can find a sweet spot and choose a membership that works for her budget. 

We will work to offer a robust calendar highlighting local women’s meetups, classes, and events within our local community, as well as access to global workshops, that provide resources and tools for creative entrepreneurs to flourish. As the landscape of work, home and sustainability changes, womxn are crucial to pioneering new ways forward. We are connectors, change makers and life-givers. This same energy serves our local ecosystem to continue creating new and meaningful ways to work.
