The Girlfriends Pod is a lifestyle media brand for black women’s personal development through on & offline experiences. Our mission to equip black women with space whether digitally or in real life to be their authentic selves and provide access to personal development resources.
As black women, we are constantly caring for others with very little downtime to cater to ourselves. Also, in the lack of spaces where feel safe to congregate, meet new people and get what we need. The Girlfriends Pod aims to help black women create community & develop an opportunity for us to get what we need to lead our best lives.
“Black women are completing higher education and starting their businesses in growing numbers, yet often face obstacles that diminish their access to health care, educational opportunities and other important supports that would allow them to achieve economic opportunity.” -- from The Status of Black Women in the United States Report
The Girlfriends Pod is becoming more structured to provide a platform that gives access to much-needed content/resources related to
Beauty | Wealth | Health
for Black Women.

Our TGP Bashes
The Girlfriends Pod is seeking funding to help provide more resources for our girlfriends. We want to build a more sustainable platform that will allow us to reach more black women who need it.
We want to employ 2-3 new team members to help generate more content, expand our reach & will allow us to introduce TGP Bashes to more cities on the east coast.
More Digital Content:
Though access to disposable income & time may be a barrier to our young girlfriends, we want to create “TGP Digital” to help us get more resourceful & relatable content to black women on:
Beauty | Wealth | Health
Increase Event Quality:
We know our girlfriends spend their hard earned money with us at TGP Bashes so we want to increase our event quality to help it be even more of time they’ll never regret.
Our CEO, Bria Davenport created TGP Back in May 2017 to help create safe space for black women in her hometown of Durham, NC. With Being fresh out of college, she has funded most of the events & digital programming on her own with the help of friends & family to work with her on planning, logistics; getting us to over 2,000 digital followers, over 400 women on our email list & have created a dope community of black women in an emerging city such as Durham, NC!
Now is the time to make TGP, an official entity with employees, a real budget and more on our 2nd birthday! Help us celebrate our success & more by donating today!
