Tales for the Future is a children's book comprising stories on equality, body positivity and activism, each one being illustrated and augmented in AR.
Tales for the Future's mission is to empower kids with progressive education, and do that in a fun and engaging way.
The book features illustrations by 11 different female artists from every corner of the globe.
Each story has a full page, full color illustration that captures the main storyline, and a QR code that is the key to what's next, the magical Augmented Reality effect.
This generation of children born between 2010-2025 is born along with iPhones, iPads and applications. But traditional education is not keeping up. Today's study materials are not adapted to the most technologically infused generation up to date.
At the same time, when it comes to school curricula, the current courses do not reflect enough on gender equality and issues such as bullying, discrimination and tolerance, or self confidence.
Tales for the Future combines progressive education with beautiful illustration and Augmented Reality effects.
We want girls and boys to be equally encouraged to have interest in all fields and getting equal resources, study and work opportunities. So, besides gender equality topics, we tackle climate activism, bullying and body positivity as additional topics.
Our illustrators come from all corners of the world, from Guatemala to Turkey, and from Japan to Poland. We want kids to experience the world through the eyes of a diverse palette of artists, in order for them to have a multicultural, multiracial perspective over things. The exposure to a wide range of illustrations and diverse characters ensures that the kids are getting a balanced view over the world.
Our Augmented Reality effects create a fun and playful approach to reading. Kids can move the cam to see different angles and zoom closer and farther for different perspectives of the illustration. It's colourful and dynamic, and the audio sets the right mood for the story, making reading engaging and fun.
Tales for the Future will be a beautiful hardcover book, 21x27,5 cm, made of fine quality, thick paper, perfect for turning pages over and over again.
Tales for the Future will not only be an opportunity to inspire young girls and boys through the storyline, the topics and the diverse characters, it will also be a collection of beautiful illustrations created by some of the most talented female artists around the world, and enhanced by AR technology.
Tales for the Future is seeking funding to be able to finish the book, pay our contributing artists and print our first copies.
- Finish the book and create even more stories
We want to write even more stories that will nurture kids’ imagination, stories with diverse characters and positive examples.
- Pay our contributing artists
We want to be able to rightfully pay our illustrators and Augmented Reality artists for the amazing work they’ve completed.
We want to extend our reach to as many schools as possible and provide Tales for the Future books for parents with kids and for everyone who is a kid at heart and loves AR!
If we manage to achieve our target, we want to donate a few books to a school from an underprivileged community in Romania.
