Taejon's Treehouse Cat Lounge - Cats & Community
Taejon's Treehouse is raising money to start our Cat Lounge to help local shelter cats & connect our community.
Project Description
In the Spring of 2019 Melissa & her son Taejon started Taejon's Treehouse. Taejon's Treehouse is currently helping local sheltered cats and the community through education & entertainment.
Through our FaceBook page, website, and community activities we have been working to raise awareness of the adoptable cats and how community members can get involved. We are moving forward to open a Cat Lounge in which sheltered cats can stay while awaiting adoption and members of the community can visit with cats as well as participate in group activities. With your help we will make this possible.
The cat lounge will serve 3 purposes:
- Provide a home environment for sheltered cats to stay so that they can be comfortable, happy, & be socialized with other cats as well as people.
- Provide opportunities for our young adults in college to share their talents and skills with the community through group events
- Educate the community on how to help the animal population, sheltered animals, and resources available locally.
The $6,000 is the minimum that we need to get the Cat Lounge up & running. You can find detailed information about expenses on our Founding Sponsors page at http://www.taejonstreehouse.com/founding-sponsors Any extra raised will be used for continued operating expenses as we get started and build our business.
Every dollar you contribute to help start this business is a dollar to help the local shelter cats and to make our community a better place to be. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our project. We look forward to working with you as you help us to grow!

The Campaign FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Where are we located? We are located in Stark County, OH.
- What Shelter do you work with? We are currently working with the Stark County Humane Society.
- Will people be able to adopt cats at the Cat Lounge? Yes, the cats will be up for adoption and people who visit the Cat Lounge will be able to adopt the cats.
- Why pay to go to a Cat Lounge when I can go to the Shelter to adopt? The Cat Lounge will provide a place similar to a home where the cats can live. They will be free to roam around and mingle with other cats and people. This helps to socialize cats so that they are able to go to homes with other animals. It also helps to eliminate the stress and fear that cats experience when put in cages in a room with several other cats and dogs barking in the background. If you go to the Cat Lounge vs the Shelter to see adoptable cats, you will be able to interact more naturally with the cats and get a better idea of their personalities rather than at the Shelter.
- What type of community activities are you going to offer? Taejon's Treehouse would like to offer Yoga, Paint Night, Craft Hour, & Story Time just to name a few. All while visiting with the cats.
- How will the Cat Lounge help the young adults of our community? Taejon's Treehouse will be reaching out to college students to lead various activities in the Cat Lounge. We will be looking to add activities that will help these young adults get the experience they need to succeed in their soon-to-be careers.
- What if We Don't Meet Our Goal? Melissa is working hard to save and raise the money needed for the Cat Lounge. She will save the money as she works to get everything needed. If, by the end of 2020, the Cat Lounge has not opened she will donate the contributions above the charges to raise them to the Stark County Humane Society. She believes the Cat Lounge will open by Summer 2020 though.
- How can I contact Taejon's Treehouse? You can visit our Facebook Page @taejonstreehouse, visit our website www.taejonstreehouse.com, or email us at [email protected]
