Our Mission 

At Sweet Beat Cafe, our mission is to create an oasis for our local community where they can come and enjoy a cosy setting with nourishing, homemade plantbased food. We have a range of plantbased retail products that customers can purchase instore and online to bring a little bit of Sweet Beat home with them. 

After years of traveling, Carolanne returned home to test out the market in her hometown of Sligo. She was met with such positive feedback that within nine months of returning, she opened Sweet Beat Cafe. Here customers can treat themsleves to wholesome food, delicious handmade treats, speciality coffee and made to order smoothies.

The Solution

We want to make what we do more accessible for our customers nationwide and at home. We began with the start of our click + Collect service. We created our online shop where customers can shop at home and collect at our newly installed Hatch.

During the lockdown we offered home delivery services which allowed people to shop at home and we hand delivered it to their door. With our new offer of nationwide delivery, we have seen huge interest in our products being shipped nationwide in the past year.

1) We want to launch our products into shops nationwide where all of our customers can access our products in their own local community. This involves a much bigger production facility to escalate production, production staff and delivery drivers. 

2) My Plantbased Kitchen - a cookbook from Sweet Beat found, Carolanne Rushe 

This book has been in the pipeline for many years and using the avenue of self publishing, we will engage with local photographers and local farmers to create a recipe book showcasing the best of our local produce. Truly bringing a flavour of Sweet Beat in to every home. 

Our Market

Since we began Sweet Beat almost 7 years ago, we have seen so much change in our every day customer. From businessmen to online influencers, we truly have everyone's interest and health in our hands.

We cater to young mums with small kids who are looking for a healthier alternative or free from foods (avoiding common allergens). Young couples picking up an easy to cook meal at home, business workers grabbing a fresh lunch that will get them through their afternoon of online zoom meetings. 

Online has been a great research and development area of our business. It has shown us this past year what the joy of gifting to family and friends who are far away means. We are truly invested in this area of our business and want to progress it to a level where we can cater to corporate and beyond. 

Why Are We Funding 

We are funding to invest in our production line, to open a much bigger production facility and to employ new staff to produce and deliver our product nationwide and potentially look at export opportunities. 

We are exploring the area of self publishing a cook book of our recipes that have been tried and tested over the last 9 years. We love to work with local farmers and photographers. We will bring to life a book that truly captures the essence of Sweet Beat and life on the Northwest Coast of Ireland. 

Our Team

We have a team of 12 part time and full time staff. 

Our Kitchen team has 2 full time chefs, 2 production chefs and a pastry chef. This team is led by Carolanne Rushe. The team collaborate on new recipes and ideas.

Our Front of house consists of 7 in house trained Baristas who deal directly with our customers on a daily basis.
