Bringing L.A.'s first Zero Waste Refill Station home.
In June of 2018, Sustain LA launched the first Refill Station for household and body care products in Los Angeles. Our busy pop-up schedule includes four farmers' markets and two retail locations. Thanks to the incredible support of the zero waste community, we have outgrown this pop-up model and are opening our first brick-and-mortar location in the Highland Park neighborhood of L.A.
Please join us in the fight against plastic pollution!
To change human behavior of consumption so we can restore the natural balance of the planet.
So what is a REFILL STATION?
A Refill Station is your partner in reducing waste and protecting the planet. Refill Stations offer everyday products like dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoos and conditioners, and DIY ingredients in bulk. Dispensing in bulk allows you to refill and reuse containers and avoid unnecessary and expensive packaging.
And what is ZERO WASTE?
Zero waste living means sending nothing to landfill or incineration, but it is SO MUCH MORE. Zero waste is a concept. Embracing that concept means rethinking systems and debunking accepted “truths” around convenience.
We believe solutions to the climate crisis and restoring the natural systems of the planet come from improving the systems of the people. Imagine a space that brings together zero waste living and events- a beautiful place to explore and learn, attend workshops, and find all your zero waste living essentials.
5214 Monte Vista St, Los Angeles, CA 90042
We are seeking funding to open the doors to our first ever brick-and mortar location and enhance our delivery service. By having a permanent location we can serve Northeast Los Angeles daily, have a landing space for our event rentals and a community space to host workshops and events around zero waste living.
This retail location will allow us to expand our bulk product selection making the zero waste journey more convenient and accessible to our community.
We've teamed up with some wonderful local artisans and are excited to bring "Meet the Maker" workshops to showcase these unique individuals. We will continue to support the many woman-owned and operated businesses that provide us with sustainable, safe and beautiful products.
Your contribution not only helps stop plastic pollution and save precious resources, it also helps us provide good jobs with living wages.
